Help me chose between some shoes?

Have liked these for ages, and they're in the sale. But! these are very similar, and 8, EIGHT! pounds.

What to do. I tend to ruin suede, so would go for cheap & cheerful, but then the clarks ones look comfortable, NL less so

Any opinions? Anyone got either pair?

Thank you

Can you go and try them on?

Jelloonsprings · 29/12/2013 21:12

Not easily (small kids, working, shopping trips major undertaking). I could order both, but then I'd have to pay 2 lots of postage. hmmmm

Haven't got either pair but if you want to wear them often then go for the clarks ones. Having just bought my first pair of clarks shoes since schooldays, I've found them to be unbelievably comfortable. No rubbing, no blisters. If you only intend to wear them very occasionally then the 8 quid ones would probably suffice!

Clarks look nicer to me

BunnyLebowski · 29/12/2013 21:30

Love the first pair.

Hate the second pair - they look as cheap as they are.

ChishandFips33 · 29/12/2013 21:33

Depends I guess how much you would want to wear tgem/what with - The Clarks look better to me but I have the odd old lady moment

Jelloonsprings · 29/12/2013 21:41

I think you're all right. I'm going to go for the ones I love which will last. I have a bad habit of buying cheap stuff because it's cheap which I'm trying to break, so thank you!

Go for Clarks-every time ;)

Ilovewaleswhenitrains · 29/12/2013 23:47

I tried the clarkes shoes on yesterday, they are very nice in real life. They have a hidden platform and cushioning for the balls of the feet. I couldn't buy them because the sides rubbed on my low ankle bones!

PastaandCheese · 30/12/2013 06:52

The Clarks. I have a similar style from there and they are actually comfortable so I can be really maverick and wear them and walk around!

BikeRunSki · 30/12/2013 07:08

Get the ones you love, the others will be a false economy.

buttercrumble · 30/12/2013 07:08

Clarks are much nicer

windywoo26 · 30/12/2013 07:32

Get the Clarks ones. I have loads of cheap shoes that I have worn once and never again because they were actually really uncomfortable. When I have invested in more expensive ones I have worn them again and again so are actually better value for money

JemimaMuddledUp · 30/12/2013 07:44

Go for the Clarks ones. I have a similar style from Clarks and they are really comfy.

NotAllItsCrackedUpToBe · 30/12/2013 15:42

The NLones are wide fit so sorry for stating the obvious but they won't fit if you don't have wide feet.

kickassangel · 30/12/2013 16:02

New Look shoes last about 5 seconds ime. I once had some fake converse type that I wore once before the sole was completely smooth and I could feel the surface of the pavement through them.

Lambzig · 30/12/2013 16:52

Clarks are nice, but the buckle on the new look ones looks cheap cheap cheap
