A pants thread

Pants, as in underwear. I am quite pear shaped with saddlebags (truly I'm gorgeous), and I am utterly fed up looking for comfy pants. I am willing to spend on decent ones. The M&S Brazilian ones don't work for me. I have tried a million and one from chain stores, and I am running out of options.

My pants must be:
comfy
cover my bum
no vpl
natural fibre

I think that's it. I would rather not huge knickers. Y'know, the ones that come up to your belly button.

TIA.

Anyone? I can't be the only one with knicker-finding difficulties! Grin

Which M&S brazillians have you tried? Some are better than others.

Chopsypie · 29/12/2013 19:13

Sorry, no advice really but I had a thread awhile ago with the same problem. I have m&s high legs at the moment which are comfy and some have lace on so not super grannyish.
I've embraced the big pants now though and have bought a few high waisted lacey pairs which are quite nice.

KatyPeary · 29/12/2013 19:21

Thanks.
I've tried some lacey brazilians, after hearing how amazing they were. They were so annoying, creeping up. I didn't realise there were different types of brazilians.

Are your M&S high legs of the no vpl type shelldockley?

Try M&S shorts, they are comfy and fun, they've converted me after years of thing thongs

KatyPeary · 29/12/2013 19:27

In M&S do you size up much? Maybe I'm buying the wrong size. I usually size up 2 sizes, I find they shrink a bit in the wash.

No I understand. I find it hard to get natural fibre pants. I don't like 90% has to be 100%
I found quite nice ones in silk from Patra. And in non woven cotton from white stuff

Chopsypie · 29/12/2013 19:35

I sized up so not much vpl. The lace edged ones have a softer line.

KatyPeary · 29/12/2013 19:36

They sound lovely spanish! Off to look.

Gap are v good (bikini or short style). I've also been very pleased with victorias Secret cotton pants, but they were bought in US, and unless you've go one near you, not much use.

Lambzig · 29/12/2013 19:46

Uniqlo pants are good, most are cotton, very flattering and keep their shape.

CadiM · 29/12/2013 20:26

My most comfortable knickers are my M&S midis. Boring and quite grannyish, but there's elastic around the legs to avoid creeping up and causing VPL / wedgie. I love the look of shorts but I need the extra elastic when I'm wearing them under trousers.

dinnydoo · 29/12/2013 20:31

If you get m&s shorts they don't creep up under trousers and are comfortable for work, their sizes are usually spot on

Mikkii · 29/12/2013 20:35

I'm with CadiM, I used to wear M&S high legs, but with my CS overhang I prefer the lower cut of the midis so my belly is not escaping through the legs!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/12/2013 20:40

I like M&S midis or shorts, but only the ones in the silky (unnatural!) fabric, not the t-shirt material ones.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/12/2013 20:40

And I don't size up at all.

Emo76 · 29/12/2013 20:53

Try Uniqlo they do some seamless shorts.

KatyPeary · 29/12/2013 21:36

I wonder am I buying too big? I will get to M&S soon and spend time and another bit of money. I like the look of the Uniqlo ones. L for 12-14 hips I presume?

OP posts:
Emo76 · 29/12/2013 21:39

Yes L - maybe M if you're closer to 12.

KatyPeary · 29/12/2013 22:28

Thanks Emo. Right now, I'm probably closer to 14. Xmas chocs/biscuits/desserts/bubbly/need I go on and all that.
