My oarents gave me money to buy some comfy boots. I wanted something I could wear with trousers or skirt. I love these but are they a little old fashioned?

Is it these OP?

If so, I'm afraid I think they're hideous.

Captainbarnacles1101 · 22/12/2013 07:52

Laugh my ass of Bunny yes it is indeed those. I appreciate your honesty. lol I don't suppose u have an alternative suggestion? budget £100

They're a bit elephant's scrotum for my taste.

I think if you want comfort you need to go and try lots on - not ideal at this time of year.

MelanieCheeks · 22/12/2013 07:57

Oooh, actually I like those! What would you wear them with?

ARightOldPickle · 22/12/2013 07:57

I'm a granny - and I agree they are hideous! Sorry I can't help with alternative suggestions, I like my boots with a bit of a heel (except for my toasty UGGS which only come out when it is is very cold)

Captainbarnacles1101 · 22/12/2013 07:58

Holy God! Elephants scrotum lol that's a new one on me. Ok im ruling these we shoes out then. POOO wanted to wear them with new Monsoon skirt to midnight mass

Well, I'm not sure - they look kind of cute & quirky, but they could look hideous on. I'd order them & see if returns are free.

I'll be interested to see anymore suggestions - I need exactly the same sort of boots & I've been looking for ages!

Have to say tho, the first thing I thought of when I saw them was The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe...

Onesleeptillwembley · 22/12/2013 07:59

They're uniquely ugly. Grin And with a skirt? Nooooooo

pictish · 22/12/2013 08:00

Well I like them! They're a hint of Victoriana and quite quirky.

MrsCampbellBlack · 22/12/2013 08:00

I read it on here to describe a leather sofa Smile

I'd try clarks which have had some good boots this season or maybe m&s although I've found their shoes are less comfortable than they used to be.

pictish · 22/12/2013 08:00

I'd wear them!

Saurus72 · 22/12/2013 08:03

Second Clarks, I bought ankle boots and knee boots in August and birth are like wearing slippers, I can walk mikes.

BunnyLebowski · 22/12/2013 08:03

Grin at elephants scrotum!!

I think they look like something Ed Gein made.

Is it brown ankle boots you're after OP? Their app won't let me link but there are lots of lovely boots on Dune's website. The sale is on too so lots of bargains Smile .

Fizziebizzy · 22/12/2013 08:04

Clarks every time for me. They're always really comfy but they have some fab styles.

christmasnamechange · 22/12/2013 08:05

I think there are quite nice - quirky but definitely a marmite item you'll love them or hate them!

As a point I hav some rather similar only they come part way up the calf like Victoria riding boots - very tight fitted an I wear them with long skirts or ocassuobally if I in the mood with thighs and three quarter length wide leg trouser.

I think you'll even love them when you put the on or hate them either way the opinion of strangers on the Internet doesn't really matter

AlaskaNebraska · 22/12/2013 08:06

vile

ophiotaurus · 22/12/2013 08:08

They're Nanny Mcphee's cast offs I'm afraid.

eurochick · 22/12/2013 08:08

I agree - awful.

SeaDevilscanPlay · 22/12/2013 08:10

Even Mary Poppins would avoid those.

hazchem · 22/12/2013 08:10

I like them but my shoe taste is not for everyone. However I do get stopped in the street every now and then and complimented on my shoes

Captainbarnacles1101 · 22/12/2013 08:11
