Whistles Sale!

Started today I think- very good this year! I got a dress I really liked, some lovely high suede courts and a t shirt. I suspect they will be reduced even more after Xmas but I didn't want to miss out!

I could have spent a fortune- one of the best seasons for ages at Whistles I think.

I got some trousers and body on dress. Wanted the printed ones but they had all sold out. Was tempted by the handbags

Tweet2tweet · 19/12/2013 21:13

I bought the Bobby parka, though had to G&T it from House of Frasers as sold out everywhere else. Down to £95 from £160, bought it with birthday money as a treat!

Tweet2tweet · 19/12/2013 21:13

Get it not G&T! Must have a drunk auto correct

macandcheesewithbaconbits · 19/12/2013 22:27

Bodycon

frankietwospots · 19/12/2013 22:27

I ordered the Bobby parka a few weeks ago and it drowned me (I got an 8). My 23 month old looked at me when I tried it on and said 'Ooo, funny coat'. Hope you have better luck Tweet!

DIddled · 19/12/2013 22:37

Lovely bags I agree- but I couldn't justify :(

I've been contemplating the Cassini navy suede mid-heel stilettos for a while. Does anyone have a pair - if so, his comfy are they please?@

Saurus72 · 19/12/2013 23:31

How comfy, not his comfy. Naughty ipad

DIddled · 20/12/2013 22:47

I bought the French 75- arrived today! Gorgeous but not sure if a bit tight on my vile feet- going to sleep on it and see how they are tomorrow. Bunions bah!!!!

Thanks - got the red sculptured dress I'd been eyeing for ages, Xmas day dress sorted.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/12/2013 23:10

They seem to be getting bigger and bigger. I tried a size 6 dress on recently and it was too big, and needed an 8 in a jacket I bought in the summer. I'm generally a 10-12.

namechange74 · 20/12/2013 23:11

Saurus Sore point - bought the black ones this week, wore them last night for 2 hours, just found puppy eating one, it's ruined Sad - they are/were very comfortable.

Lighthousekeeping · 20/12/2013 23:14

The Mara dress is really flattering. Looks much better on.

Saurus72 · 20/12/2013 23:35

Namechange - sick to your stomach feeling I bet, rubbish.

I bought the Abbie black t-shirt with little lace sleeves. I tried it on a few months ago and loved it but just couldn't justify £65 for a (v nice) t-shirt. Paid £40 which is still quite a lot, but pleased as is lovely.

Also, have just ordered the navy Cassini stilettos. I love navy so I really hope they don't pinch my feet.

sleepdodger · 21/12/2013 00:12

Cassinis are beaut but so small ATM
Usually 39 at whistles- I doubt a 41 would have been ok, v odd

Saurus72 · 21/12/2013 00:15

Oh no, I've never bought Whistles shoes before. I'm usually a 39 which is the size i ordered. Oh well, will have to wait and see.

Coumarin · 21/12/2013 01:01

Not in the spirit of the thread but can I just say how oddly the clothes are modelled on the site? I understand that it means you can see the clothes clearly but who stands like that in real life? Like rigid barbie dolls. It's so visually unappealing.

DIddled · 21/12/2013 08:35

I kno what you mean about the models - they look really drab and robot like- Zara does the same.

OP posts:
ShreddedHoops · 21/12/2013 08:56

Yy to the models, Cos do it too. I quite like the Zara ones, they're always styled well. But the Whistles website in general is crap IMO - I had to switch to desktop view from my tablet to see the fabric composition of the dress I wanted

PrimalLass · 21/12/2013 10:23

I was looking at a Whistles dress and the model's posture is ridiculous.

Bought it anyway but sent it back as it was a ft too long.

This one is the same. Stand up straight woman.

Tweet2tweet · 21/12/2013 13:16

Ha gla primal, knock knees in second one!

I'm nervous about size of parka now. Was last one in stock, oh well I guess I can return it if too big.

Lighthousekeeping · 21/12/2013 14:16

The jeans are really reduced

womma · 21/12/2013 15:44

The dresses don't flatter the models really do they? The reductions in the Whistles sake are always good, but I'm not as keen since the Top Shop woman took over.

Lighthousekeeping · 21/12/2013 19:01

I never pay full price in whistles. It sells well on eBay after as well. My favourite shop,

Saurus72 · 21/12/2013 19:05

Light housekeeping - totally agree re: never paying full price. I really like it as I think it is something that is quite hard to find - non- frumpy clothes for grown-ups. Some things are good quality, but others aren't great. I don't mind paying the reduced prices, but couldn't justify full price at all.
