This question has probably cropped up

Oops!!

Continued...

I spend a lot of time at home and can't stand to be in jeans. Can anyone help me put together a stylish but practical loungewear outfit? I'm hoping to get a few things in the sales. It needs to be cosy as its winter Grin

I'm HOC autumn so need browns, navy, green, warm red rather than blacks/greys. I have my eye on the ugg ansley slippers someone mentioned the other day.

Hope someone can help!

a onesie! Wink

sotiredfornow · 19/12/2013 20:23

I think that would be just about the least flattering thing I could wear!

I'm very slim but only 5'2 tall. I'd look like a child!

Why would anyone need to look stylish lounging. I'm a fairly stylish person but at home its joggers and an oversized hoodie Wink

BunnyLebowski · 19/12/2013 20:27

I'm currently wearing red wooly reindeer leggings, slipper boots and a navy lounge top. All from Primark and I bought 3 other similar outfits in different patterns/colours.

I'm at home all day so like to lounge in style Grin .

I work from home and could if I wanted wear pyjamas all day but I don't feel I am in 'work mode' until I'm dressed. I don't find jeans that comfy and still want to look half decent in case I have to pop out or answer the door so I've put together a selection of what I guess would be called loungewear which I mix and match and layer depending on the weather.
This consists of:

Slim fitting jogging bottoms
Leggings
Jersey harem trousers

Long and short sleeve t-shirts
Longline vests
Fitted hoodies
Long chunky cardis

Scarves, wristwarmers and big slouchy socks when it's chilly
Sheepskin boots worn as slippers

All of these are in similar colours (mainly black and grey but sure you could get what suits you) and I've got them from a variety of places including Gap, Next, Uniqlo, TK Maxx and Hush. Lots of places do their own ranges of loungewear now - in an ideal world I'd be in Mint Velvet, White Co and more Hush than I've got at the moment but unless they have a good sale I tend to try and recreate the look on a Primark budget! Little things like cashmere socks or just wearing decent underwear make the whole thing feel a bit less sloppy and more pulled together.

Sure there will be loads of bargains in the sales, hope you find some nice stuff :)

ProfondoRosso · 19/12/2013 20:53

There's some very nice loungewear in Uniqlo Smile

CambridgeBlue - that was so helpful, thanks for taking the time to write.

Your slim leg joggers - where are they from? And your jersey harems - are they hush? And chunky cardis - where from?

I think both the joggers and the harems were from Next, Hush do them too but I prefer to spend my Hush budget on something more exciting - love their Henley dresses which would also fit with this sort of look. I've also got nice joggers from, of all places, Matalan. I get the men's ones in a small size as they are a plainer style which I prefer. My chunky cardi was from TK Maxx but I am lusting over a stunning Mint Velvet one and crossing my fingers it will go in the sale.
