Messika 'Move' bracelets - in love

I neeeeeed one of these babies in my life. I saw an ad in Vogue ages ago. But I just googled them and they are about £4k Sad

Any jewellers around, or anyone know about commissioning, erm, 'tribute' jewellery?

I like the silver bangle with the three sliding diamonds. Or the rose gold version. Just stunning, and imagine being able to fiddle with them - bliss! They're a bit like the Cartier 'Love' bracelets I think but nicer and more quirky.

If Santa were to put one of these in my stocking I would die of joy.

I'd settle for this I suppose.

They're lovely... But I'm horrified at the prices.

I reckon you could do it at a decent weight for about a grand to £1200 Including some decent stones. They don't need to be massively flashy stones for a bracelet/cuff.

Speak to local jewellers show them a picture and get an idea of their rates. Their cost will obviously include the raw materials and their workmanship.

Ask to see examples of their work. You want to see somebody with a good finish. Don't worry or invest too much in fancy computer aided drawing systems or swishy catalogues of work. Look at the actual jewellery itself.

(I say this because most of the best jewellers I know have appallingly tatty portfolios with some great pictures in them- but they're too busy crafting to waste time on a swish catalogue.)

Also the pave one would drive me mad. I don't like too tight bracelets but with any give this one will swing around your wrist.

Knowing my luck I'd end up smashing it off a table. Cost for resetting pace stones is not nice!!!

Onesleeptillwembley · 17/12/2013 04:19

They are ridiculously overpriced. Not to my taste but that's just me.

Willabywallaby · 17/12/2013 05:55

I prefer the more delicate ones.

I came on to ask about this Links Sweetie Bracelet anyone know of a better value make?!?

Hope you don't mind the hijack ShreddedHoops but was on a similar vein.

5HundredUsernamesLater · 17/12/2013 06:14

I love the chunkier version but can only dream.

And willabywallaby, I think they have something similar in Argos.

Willabywallaby · 17/12/2013 06:18

Liking the non chunky ones more and more, and haven't put my request into FC yet...

I was thinking something between Argos and Links, but have you seen the quality in Argos?

Willabywallaby · 17/12/2013 06:20

Not quite what I was thinking Xmas Grin

Willabywallaby · 17/12/2013 06:23

Couldn't find a plain one.

5HundredUsernamesLater · 17/12/2013 08:53

The one direction wasn't the one I saw but it was is a while since i was in there. Haven't actually bought any Argos jewellery so can't comment on quality. Will let you know if I see any thing else similar.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/12/2013 08:58

I like that delicate diamond one but the rose gold is not my taste.

And they are horrifically overpriced.

RonaldMcDonald · 17/12/2013 09:20

willaby that bracelet is now the work of 10,000 knockoffs none of them worse than the original

Willabywallaby · 17/12/2013 22:06

Thanks 5HundredUsernames
