Hormonal spots

Just before my last three periods I have had a huge spot on my chin. It starts off as a painful lump and then gets a head. I've never had this before and I'm over 40.

Any ideas on how to prevent and/ or treat? I have one now and DD asked me did I have a wart on my face, lovely child.

Try putting some ibuprofen gel on it. I get these a lot and if you leave it on overnight it brings the spots to a head and dries them out do by morning you can squeeze the gunk out easily and then bang a but of tea tree oil on it. This method gets rid of the worst of mine within 48 hrs and they can be concealed easily.

I get these too. They're really painful and mine look hideous.

I think I'll give the ibuprofen gel a go - where can you buy it?
I've been using good old Sudocrem. It works fairly well, espcially with the inflammation.

Thanks I will pick some up from boots tomorrow. The other two have left red scars that are taking ages to fade.

I am lying in bed with a big blob if sudocrem as I type! What about prevention? Do you think evening primrose oil tablets are worth a go?

Don't bother going to Boots for ibuprofen gel, pound shops and supermarkets do it so much cheaper.

Evening Primrose Oil capsules do make a difference but make sure you get the high strength ones (1000mg).

Yes I second Little, I get my ibuprofen gel from Tesco for about £1.50 for a tube.

Great, I will do that tomorrow
