I need your help and advice; I recently had a hysterectomy at only 3 weeks notice. In those 3 weeks i lost a stone and have lost another 5lbs since it (nearly 3 weeks ago) due to the enormous fibroid removed. So i have gone from a portly 12st 1 to 10st 10ish in 6 weeks.

My figure for the last 2 years has looked like I was 5 months pregnant due to the fibroid. Whilst i have lost weight, i am still overweight and have another stone or so to go. I naturally am apple shaped and now fibroid has gone, it pretty obvious i am going to be left with an apron.

I am short- 5' 2 and quite small boned. Every top I try looks like maternity wear- my waist is still 41 but this will reduce a bit as I recover. Is there such a thing as a top that will at least make me look less like a beached whale? A bubble hem thing? Or will that look worse? I have to have a v neck due to impressive norkage.

Yikes - a big op and at such short notice too! Hope you're on the mend now.

Have you thought about investing in some shapewear as a start and see how you feel you look then.

thats a thought- not from m and s though- have 36 gg boobs and their bras etc are just terrible! that is an idea though- i've never really had a waist as such- its boob, short body and until recently huge pregnant looking tummy- followed by no bum, slim hips and legs! i think its the top heavy look!
