A mascara that doesn't smudge?

MedusaIsHavingaBadHairday · 13/12/2013 17:36

I wear very little makeup..none most days. However there are times when I would like to wear just a little mascara and I can't seem to find one that doesn't give me panda rings in just a couple of hours.

Any suggestions please?

Estée Lauder double wear mascara - every other mascara I've ever worn has given me terrible panda eyes, the double wear ones stay put and only come off with warm water. Expensive but worth it!

tigerdriverII · 13/12/2013 22:42

Boots do a good one, no 7 in a gold tube. Washes off w warm water but otherwise it sticks like mad.

frankietwospots · 13/12/2013 22:43

Max Factor 2000 Calorie. No panda rings!

MarianForrester · 13/12/2013 22:44

Second Double Wear, although they are not super fabulous mascara in the big, long lashes sense, they really do stay put

caketinrosie · 13/12/2013 22:51

Benefit mascara, it stays on FOREVER! You need their makeup remover to get it off. Makes your lashes look ridiculously long. I have tried literally every mascara on the planet but I would sell a child for this one. Ok, maybe just DH. But you get my drift. Xmas Grin

thehairybabysmum · 13/12/2013 22:57

My Benefit smudgesHmm

Mrswellyboot · 13/12/2013 23:40

I don't like the benefit one either. I heard the ysl one is beautiful.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/12/2013 23:57

Benefit They're Real makes my scabby looking eyelashes amazing but I can only wear on my top lashes (I have weirdy long bottom eyelashes so I look a bit Aunt Sally if I do top'n'bottom)

I don't like the plum, it does smudge on me (but I love the colour, so I do base coat plum, top coat They're Real)

Mally Beauty is the best one I've found for staying put.

cake when Benefit do their special offer of the full size + the mini for the usual £18 ish, you could sell your DH and child.
Win Win. Get rid of two pesky people and get two Beauty Bargains. Wink

Im not a fan of benefit one either (not a fan of benefit generally ...).

The Diorshow Iconic one is great if you have sensitive eyes. If you want a natural effect go for the plain Iconic waterproof one. If you want a bit more of a dramatic effect, go for overcurl. I have reordered this mascara several times now. every time i use something else (I have about five others in circulation that I'm trying to use up before i repurchase this one and i keep repurchasing because it is SO much better) I can see just how much better this one is - it doesnt flake, sting or smudge on me. Brilliant.

Twinkleandbunty · 14/12/2013 01:56

I have tried every mascara going - from cheap and cheerful to premium brands such as Lancôme.
They all smudge on me within about 2 hours.
However the wash off ones are fantastic and I'm a convert. The Estée Lauder Double Wear is great, but Clinique make two wash off ones as well: Lash Power mascara (which is a nice everyday one, much like the Estée Lauder) and High Impact curling mascara which I use for going out.
They're all great, I can't use anything else!

Another vote for Benefit BadGal. It gives me long lashes and it has not smudged at all.

VestaCurry · 14/12/2013 05:07

Mally or Bobbi Brown

TheBookofRuth · 14/12/2013 07:55

Clinique Lash Power is the one you want. I've tried most mascaras, including many of the ones mentioned in this thread, and this is the only one that doesn't budge. I had constant panda eyes for years before I started to use it.

Megbeth · 14/12/2013 09:47

I am a smudger. I've got Clinique lash power & hate it. I still get flakes & hate it that I can't remove it with eye make up remover. I have to wash my face & rub the lashes & end up with black balls on my face which annoys me.
I am going to try Clarins Wonder Length & Christian Dior Iconic Curl. Clarins do an overcoat that you can put over mascara to seal it.
I don't get any eye gel on my lashes & have tried setting the lashes with a dusting of loose powder but still get smudging. Maybelline & Max factor were the worst ones for me.

eurochick · 14/12/2013 09:49

I have Benefit They're Real at the moment and it hasn't smudged once.

Walnut8 · 14/12/2013 10:08

Megbeth - I hate all of those tubing ones for that reason! I just dont understand why they get so much love.

Megbeth · 14/12/2013 11:09

Walnut8 I know I hate it but people seem to love the tubing type. I'm using it up but can't wait for it to dry out so I can buy something else.

TheBookofRuth · 14/12/2013 11:37

Mine comes off easily with normal remover or cleansing wipes.

BigChocolateOrange · 14/12/2013 11:43

Without bringing the tone of the whole thread down, I've gone through a horrible time over the last few weeks and I have cried A LOT. Every day. I have been wearing Maybelline Volum' Express The Rocket waterproof mascara and whilst my foundation and blusher have been in puddles on my chin this has honestly not moved or smudged at all.

sergeantmajor · 14/12/2013 12:16

MUA £1 masacara lasts really well, aboslutely no panda or flakes. But it is not much of a 'wow' evening mascara. More of a clean-cut daytime one iyswim. I'm doing well with Benefit They're Real for my more dramatic moments.

Spookey80 · 14/12/2013 17:45

Clinique lash power.

mummytowillow · 14/12/2013 21:03

I've tried Estee Lauder double wear and Clinique lash power.

Lash power is best, double wear dries out to much.

AnyFuckerWillDo · 14/12/2013 22:25

Dfor smudge proof you won't beat blinc, read the reviews

onetiredmummy · 15/12/2013 07:42

Blinc won't smudge & stays in place.

But it just adds colour, there's no volume or lengthening properties.

Jewels234 · 15/12/2013 12:34

Max Factor Lashfinity will stay on forever (or three days as advertised)...but you need a strong make up remover to get rid of it, as it looks manky on day 2! x
