new ysl foundation -taking back today , never returned makeup before

the forever youth one
makes me look ancient cos it sits in my pores
I am very picky about the finissh of foundation and like a natural no makeup look
the touch eclat one is fab ,so as a makeup whore I thought I'd try the new one as it's heralded as making you look brighter blabla

she did emphasise that if I wasn't happy to return but I think she was on about the shade cos she took ages trying to decide
shade is perfect match just hate the finish
will they still accept return?

I love the look of it and have been on the verge of buying it!

I really didn't like the touche Eclat one. Far too light and watery. I like a full coverage foundation.

How are the shades? And is it yellowy or pinky based?

Do you have your receipt ? If yes then you should be able to get a full refund if need be but you'll need to contact YSL direct (you can get details from their webpage)

If you just want an exchange because you don't like the finish of it then they should be able to do this. Where did you buy it ?

I returned this foundation too as it looked horrible on me. Got the Teint Resist which also turned out to be pants as it changes colour on me after about 2hrs. YSL only offered an exchange though as I didn't have the receipt.

Got full refund had receipt , I got it in boots.
I went back wearing the touche eclat one and she agreed it looked better on me. She explained it's because the youth one has a powder and cream in it that will gather in pores whereas the touche one is gel based so sits on top of the skin instead.
Bunny- there aren't as many shades in the new one , she initially put br30 on me but it looked too white then her boss arrived and said to try the br50 and it was a good match colour wise. Thnink she was a tad embarrassed to be corrected by her boss cos the colours of this new one aren't in line with the touche one , which makes it confusing .
I wear b50 shade in the touche one.

I've figured out I'm probably a BR20 (pale with pink tones) and am off into town tomorrow so will have a mooch in Harvey Nicks.

I'm currently using MAC Studio Sculpt which is really lovely but I'm a foundation hoor and can't resist a new one!

This is a bit of a tangent, but not really. My local Boots can be a bit funny about taking back cosmetics.

I had to take back a nail polish a couple of months ago (it was like trying to spread jelly on your fingers, plus the flakies in it actually cut me).

The manager gently informed me that they 'don't do returns on cosmetics'. I immediately felt my eyebrows shoot up into my eyeline as I glared at him. He pointedly looked at my walking stick and stammered 'But for you, we will refund you!'.

How generous. I had the receipt and everything and would have been happy with a credit.

Maybe I was lucky , when I bought it she did keep saying "if you're not happy bring it back"
I actually returned it to the girl at the Benefits counter who gave me a refund with no problem cos YSL girl wasn't there. Went back to ysl girl later cos I was passing and spoke to her about it.
