I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting old or if everyone else has no style sense but there are a few things I see poeple wearing nowadays and it just makes my think "OMG...go home and get changed!!"

1)Mostly a teenage thing I think but footless tights with short mini skirts.....what on earth is all that about???

2)Racer back vest tops with bra straps showing!!
Errrr is it too much to wear a strapless bra??

3)White t-shirts/tops/vest with black bras underneath!!
It's just wrong!

I'm sure there are aload more too.....

Bra straps on show only if they are pretty. A friend had a business at one point manufacturing lovely bra straps that you could clip on to your bra - they were lovely but expensive IIRC.

Anyone over a size 10 with a crop top/low rise trousers - yuck.

G strings above the pants - get hipster thongs or higher pants please. I've just seen Ben Elton and as he says "in my day that was called a wedgie".

Footless tights and mini skirts - I'm pretty sure I did that in the 80s, so I can't moan about that one. Actually I did leggings with hideous large shirt on top - now that was vile.

I don't understand wearing millions of vests on top of each other, surely it just creates heaps of washing - buy a coat.

I saw a sight that made me and others gawp in horror today at the supermarket.

A mature woman, probably aged between 50-55yo, was wearing a tan coloured, cropped, crochet top and because the back was so low, you could see all the back of her black bra. The crop top revealed her wobbly belly spilling over her low waist jeans. You had to see it to believe it and to me it was a pitiful sight. I firmly believe one should be able to wear what they like but I also believe one should dress in a way that flatters your physique. Letting it all hang out is not flattering. She was with a male acquaintance and you would have thought that he could have told her about the bra. Don't these people ever look in the mirror?

poor dh, doesnt get out much - very plump office junior with thong showing at back with something on it like "you know you want to" then female co-worker with suit skirt just that bit big at the waist so waist of tights on show

Have I turned in to an old fart? Milk boy came to pick the milk money up at tea time with a teeshirt with "it aint going to suck itself" on it

speedymama, that's a fashion felony, you should have done a citizens arrest

expatinscotland · 20/07/2006 13:56

I wasn't into the Flesh Parade even when I was young and nubile.

It's not necessary.

Leave something to hte imagination, fgs!

Blackduck · 20/07/2006 14:17

Really pretty slim woman in lovel summer dress V neck - front and back, flashing bra catches....yuck..

mrsbigd · 20/07/2006 19:08

I think there is a trend with back of bra's showing atm... saw a woman today and her sort of brown patterned maternity dress looked nice from the front, however then she turned around and the neck line of the dress at the back was about 5cm below her black bra!

Lauraa83 · 20/07/2006 19:33

I always wear a black bra under whateva top I'm wearing (I do change the straps for a halterneck top though) just cos like Ladytamba I only like black ones and that's all I buy

Must be our age lol I'm 23 too

Lauraa83 · 20/07/2006 19:43

tell you what is bad...........

we were at the checkout at the supermarket and this girl next to us (who was desperate for attention) was wearing these here a mile above her jeans. Her bf said quietly to her "your knickers are showing" and she snapped back "yeah, they're supposed to!" and pulled them up even higher!!!

now that did look bad - and made me laugh

SSSandy · 21/07/2006 09:18

You know the flabby woman in the cropped top and hipster jeans, I wonder if she'd just lost a lot of weight.

I've noticed when I've lost a BIT of weight that I seem to go out and buy some teenagey type fashion ,as if I'm kidding myself that having lost a bit of weight, I look great in those teenage clothes. I just bought two pairs of those really short shorts for instance (I'm only planning on wearing them at the beach though not about town). I think I look passable in them since I'm not heavy but probably not great since I could definitely be more toned up.

acnebride · 21/07/2006 09:28

hell's bells! I quite like dark bras under white tops - never did it myself but mates at school did, think it subverts uniform nicely.

I'd agree re covering up but if you've got just enough money to buy food and gain weight, but not enough to buy a whole load of new clothes, sometimes it's not going to work...

CarolinaMoose · 21/07/2006 12:55

aaaah, the St Trinian's look acnebride

Laura, those are minging.

alligator · 21/07/2006 13:06

Can someone explain the whole wearing clothes inside out look to me please. Now thats one that makes me laugh.

TinyGang · 21/07/2006 13:18

I hate the dress/skirt over jeans thing. Jar-jar Binks outfits.

crazydazy · 21/07/2006 13:24

I cannot stand them really cropped denim jackets where they show the WHOLE of the belly!!!

If I had a nice belly I would still not wear one of those they are hideous!!!
