Don't know how else to describe it, but is there something you can spray on to 'set' makeup so it doesn't smudge...? (vaguely recall reading about something like it some time ago...) If not, can some enterprising clever mumsnetter develop and market it...?

I think it's a fixing spray? I believe the MUA range in Superdrug has one amongst other ranges

MrsYoungSalvoMontalbano · 05/12/2013 23:12

ooooh, thanks - will there tomorrow!

Another tip is to separate two ply tissue and place one on your face and use translucent powder to set

plentyofsoap · 05/12/2013 23:56

Urban declay do one, I haven't tried it though.

Catswiththumbs · 06/12/2013 00:04

Normal hairspray works. Only use it for nights out though, don't really need it normally. Obviously use in a ventilated area, and erm don't breath it in Xmas Confused

They lovely lady doing my wedding make up a couple of years ago used a fixing spray. She said it was so effective she uses it for underwater shoots and for synchronised swimmers. I can't remember the exact product but it was something like this .

ThePigOfHappiness · 06/12/2013 06:43

I use the urban decay one. It's fab.

pookypup · 06/12/2013 06:43

Worked well for me in a big dress on very a hot summers day, whatever it was...

TallulahBetty · 06/12/2013 07:06

I can vouch for the MUA one from Superdrug. Amazing stuff. On my third bottle.

HelgatheHairy · 06/12/2013 09:28

Urban Decay is the best ever. It kept my make up in place from 10am to 10pm on a sweltering hot day in August in New York.

MrsYoungSalvoMontalbano · 06/12/2013 21:24

oooh, thanks, gonna try both!

Mac has one called Fix which I've used forever and it WORKS.

But an MUA one... Now I need to check that out! Does anyone know how much?

Paintingrainbowskies · 06/12/2013 22:20

I've used the MAC one forever too and it's great.

MrsYoungSalvoMontalbano · 20/12/2013 20:51

I just use my normal hair spray- elnet. Only for nights out but it works well. I also use it to set my charcoal drawings. Multi purpose!

MrsYoungSalvoMontalbano · 29/12/2013 13:59

Fab stuff, keeps makeup on all day at school (hot classrooms, challenging pupils Grin), kept makeup on a parties, and today even kept makeup on after five hours of solid skiing! (No, I don't normally ski in make-up, just thought I'd see what happened)

I'm another Urban Decay user - it's ace!

LittleTulip · 29/12/2013 14:07

Urban decay make up setting spray is great. If I need my make up to stay on for a long day I use a really good primer too
