Be warned! Those of you on the look out for a hooded coat that is warm and waterproof, heals this warning. You may end up looking like a mum.

Her outfit looks like the ironic hipster inspired bad taste of a twenty something with the head of a forty- five year old woman superimposed on top.

Not good. She needs to quit with the advice.....

Mmm.. mutton dressed as lamb springs to mind. Majority of mums have one priority - their children! Not how
fashionable, trendy, well dressed they are when they turn up at the school gates. Just trying for a reaction.

mums wear biker or fly boots

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 06/12/2013 20:21

Wow skinny jeans, a sweatshirt and trainers. I've like NEVER seen another Mum wear that outfit. apart from, you know, everyone, including my own

She really is a style icon and the First Mother ever to be interested in fashion apart from Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Jerry Hall, Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss and a few million others

We must worship her. Nike Air Jordans? What a revolutionary discovery! We have finally found an heir to the late Isabella Blow. But for mums.

Also are Parkas not called Parkas any more? Do we have to call them 'hooded, waterproof duvet coats' now?

peasandlove · 06/12/2013 20:25

wow she looks very much like a mum to me
I was expecting someone stylish to have written that article..

fail

If she was that worried about standing out from other South London mums why did she call her kids Max and Rafferty? Confused

I clicked on this because I'm a 30-something but not a mum.

Monday to Friday I'm an office worker. In the house, I'm a slob or a PJ wearer if no guests. I suspect I'm not alone in that.

For weekends / casual nights out I wear shock horror skinny or slightly bootcut jeans, fitted jersey tops, cashmere sweaters and Ugg boots at this time of year. (I do have both flat comfy ones for walking and more stylish wedge ones if I want to be a bit smarter, but still casual).

Who knew I was mumsy without giving birth? Having said that, outwith year one (where tbf most of my mum friends and their DPs have understandably been a bit less groomed than usual!) I doubt you could tell the difference between the mums of little ones / mums of teens / mums of grown up and non-mums on a night out.

Size matters too. At barely 5" and 2 stone overweight but with a thin waist, I will not be walking out in denim shorts and thick tights any time soon, not those Paisley print leggings that seem to be popular. I wouldn't look a great deal worse than many I've seen in it, but being a bit overweight, I'd prefer to make my mark with those single colour sweaters she doesn't like. I've had a load of compliments when wear my bright blue / pink cashmere sweaters with jeans on dress down day.
