Cashmere from Pure. I'm sure it shrinks...

Bought a cardi last year. Washed it on cold wash in machine and it shrank. I thought this was a one off, so washed another Pure cashmere item in washer. It shrank. Now I washed it on cold hand wash cycle..... So it shouldn't shrink.

Uniqlo and Boden cashmere washed fine in washer. I know a fair bit about fibres and textile technology, and it can find no reason why the Pure stuff should shrink on a cold hand wash whereas the others don't. Can anyone enlighten me?

I have 3 Pure sweaters and none of them have shrunk. I wash them on a 30c wool wash and then give them an extra spin. Does your washing machine shrink anything else?

No, everything else comes out fine. It's only the Pure cashmere which suffers. I didn't even spin it.

None of my Pure stuff has ever shrunk, I even tried to shrink a cardi that was too big, and failed.

None of mine have shrunk either, but lots of my other stuff has. It's a knack I have, destroying clothes.
