I could really do with looking sexy tomorrow

Dp said a few months ago I wasn't hot enough for him, this is true before anyone starts flaming him. I need to know how to look sexy.

I am ace with make up so that bit is covered, my hair lets me down, I have a round face, overgrown fringe and shoulder length hair with slight root coverage needed.

We are going out tomorrow night after work (sweaty/dirty environment) and have 20 mins to get ready at work.

Please give me hair tips!! I want to look good Smile

No champagne or flowers but on the plus side you get insults.

You don't have to work on anything just ditch him and find someone better.

I'm sorry you're not hot enough for him and he's not intelligent enough for you? Sure that might be honest, but it sounds like a relationship made in hell.

Anyway, since you asked, product alone wont work with frizz. You need a straightener. Ideally straighten it the night before.

Walnut8 · 05/12/2013 03:32

Just realised the time over there!

MistAllChuckingFrighty · 05/12/2013 06:47

what is he doing to make himself more intelligent for you ?

Hohohowhatfuckeryitis · 05/12/2013 07:14

I hate men who "love" long hair. It is symptomatic of wanting a certain type of woman. If he loves you truly he would find you hot whatever. This is different to wanting to look hot because you want to.

SuperiorCat · 05/12/2013 07:32

I will ignore the red flag as everyone else has covered it and you know the problem.

Whilst i agree with them ^ You asked for advice so focusing on what you can do to make you feel good for yourself:

Can you do your hair in a bun? Either during the day then let it out for your date or for the date itself? Loose low side bun style.

If you can't shower then baby wipes are good clean up fix.

How are your brows? Can you get them done in lunch break? It makes me feel more groomed which is I guess a bit high maintenance.

A quick drying one coat dark nail varnish on short nails.

Enjoy your night out.

Click44 · 05/12/2013 07:41

Is there any way you could get to the hairdressers at lunch for a quick blow dry? If you could squeeze it in do, once your hair is done the rest is easy

Walnut8 · 05/12/2013 10:05

Yes, what click said.

ImaginativeNewName · 05/12/2013 10:17

Ignoring earlier points, can you do a French plait down one side and then pin the end of it up underneath with bobby pins and have your fringe on a side parting? This is my failsafe when I don't have much time. Maybe do it before work so you just have to tidy it up afterwards rather than start from scratch if you aren't used to plaiting and take some dry shampoo / shine spray to freshen your fringe up after work?

How did it go?

ProfondoRosso · 06/12/2013 09:06

Tbh, TheAwfulDaughter, I agree with your first example about finding ways to be healthy together, but if my DH thought I wasn't taking 'pride' in my appearance, I'd rather he sat down with me and talked, to figure out what might be behind it (without direct reference to my hideousness). Taking me to the MAC counter would feel a bit My Fair Lady.

OP, I hope you enjoyed your night, for you and nobody else.

Beauty fades; intelligence, wit and a nice personality last forever. Dump him fast.

fatedtopretend · 07/12/2013 19:38

It went great, his issue with my looks is pretty much that I've forgotten how to make an effort.

We are very happy if a little disfunctional it would seem.
