Which developer should I use with Majirel if i can't find Majicreme? Help!

Hello!

I’ve just had my hair stripped of it’s black colour and taken back to my natural brown colour (the colourist used Majirel 5.0). As usual I can’t afford to get my hair professionally coloured every 3 weeks when my blasted grey hair makes an appearance. At the moment I’m keen on slowly lightening my hair to a more chocolatey colour rather than the dark brown it is at present, but keen not to damage my hair due to the ‘stripping’ its gone through recently. Regardless of the colour I desire I need to be able to touch up the roots very shortly, so need some help and advice.

The hairdresser recommended using 50% (5.0) colour with 50% developer however when I read about Majirel it recommeded using Majicreme developer, but I can’t find this anywhere for sale so I’m hoping someone can tell me;

  • is this colour enough i.e. the 5.0, as I keep reading you could use a couple to get the right tone
  • what developer brand from L’oreal I should/could use instead
  • if a 20 volume developer is the correct one to use
  • if the 50:50 ratio is correct

Many thanks in advance…

I've recently used it and Sally's gave me 6% creme peroxide
Have you got a Sally's near you? They're great for advice
