Peep toe shoes + tights?

Going to a posh do with lots of chic French people. Me not chic. Me not even French. I've seen some nice party shoes with a peep toe. But what happens about tights? Can't contemplate going tights-free with my pasty veiny pins. But tights-clad toes surely not a good look. And what about painted toe nails as viewed through nude nylon? Perhaps I should steer away from the peep toe, but I do rather fancy them. Any advice?

I don't know where this 'no tights with peep toes' thing came from, but it's total crap.

You need a pair that are nicely finished at the toes so no crooked seams. I'd go for something 15 denier or lacy, even opaque as long as they're nice and smooth.

I'd paint my nails if the toes were fairly sheer, otherwise I'd just leave them.

Those bare toe tights look ugly. What if the toe post snaps or they ride up?

Peep toe tights are the way to go. You want to avoid this look at all costs.

I totally agree with lookatmybutt, peep toe tights are bizarre.

They look ridiculous - tights on the leg & then bare toes - wtf? Just no.

40s film stars all wore tights with peep toes. I have loads myself & I always wear tights unless it's the height of summer.

I think you can wear tights with peep toes but the tights must be clearly not natural / sheer / skin coloured otherwise it looks accidental or a faux pas IYSWIM.

As someone said above the toe seams should also look slick.

I think it's also nice if the tights contrast a bit with the shoe colour while being a complementary. I once wore black tights with bronze peep toes which looked cute.

You have to look like you meant to do it, not like you're hoping no one will notice. I've worn coloured tights w black peep toes before which looked good

Get some patterned type tights and go for a nice bright polish so it shows
