Mulberry Effie Tote

I am thinking of getting one in black. I have an oak Bayswater that I love, but want a less structured (and heavy) bag in black, and this looks like a contender! Haven't seen it in RL yet, just wondered if anyone has one - Opinions? Or any other suggestions? (Doesn't have to be a Mulberry, and prefer a bag without huge logos/branding)

Also, is it worth waiting for the sale? Or is it a permanent style that never gets reduced?

That is beautiful , a real classic which doesn't look like it will date Xmas Smile

Ive been eyeing the Effie satchel in red. But not really practical for the next year of my life unless it doubles as a changing bag!

I like the tote in black, seems a reasonably modern shape. You'd need to try it on yourself anyway to see how it hangs in you.

Is it just me or would you never find the mulberry bag you like in a sale?

I'm still Hmm I didn't get a burgundy Alexa when they had them (hence toying with red bag idea now even though I'm about to go on maternity leave). If you like it get it!

Well DH is flying out of Heathrow this weekend and they have a Mulberry shop in Duty Free (yes I rang and they do stock them!). So do I chance it and ask him to get one, or wait in case it does go in the sale? (Though from what I gather the 'classic' colours rarely go in the sale!). I'm in the sticks so no access to Selfridges etc to go have a try on/look either Hmm

Yes, it does seem a classic style but not too blingy like a lot of their new bags. I liked some of the Michael Kors bags but am put off by all that shiny gold hardware.

Need something big enough to dump stuff in, but that I can sling across the shoulder if I need my hands free.

Yes you won't regret it. There's no way a black bag like that will go in the sale.

I got a black Effie hobo from Bicester village in the Summer. Saved about £300. They were really lovely in the shop and if you call they'll let you know if they're likely to get any of the bag you like in. Worth a try - I love mine (had obsessed about it for months) and the fact it was a bargain makes it even better!

I got a choc Brown buffalo leather alexa in shepton mallet outlet for 500. They had loads of 'normal' coloured bags.
I'd vote for having a ring around and see what's available...

I'm not a bag person, but that is lovely OP. Get it! Envy

They had these today at Mulberry outlet SM not in black but in tan leather, cream with tan straps, brown suede and pink. The tan was i think £445 or that could have been the cream one. Blooming bargain! I bought the Effie satchel in suede for £315!! couldn't get to till fast enough!!

MooMinCow · 03/12/2013 20:39

Wish I could get to SM. will call them tomorrow (but it is the black I need!)
