Next weekend we're going to a (not close) friend of DH's wedding reception.

I want to look lovely. I am still carrying an extra stone of blubber from DD2 who is 12 months old so no excuse or sympathy there
There will be people I know there, very glamorous, toned, rich but lovely grr but there will be lots of people inc groom and his wife I have never met. I want to have feel confident enough to enjoy our rare night out (first one together since DD2). Plus I want my husband to feel proud of me.

We are going for a frock shop on Thursday (god help me) but here's the thing. I have never worn sp x type pants and imagine them to be the devils work really uncomfortable and rolling in places (like ill fitting tights) and giving me more bulges. Is that the case or are they major wonders of engineering that will transform my body.

I'm guessing nobody knows a shift a stone and tone up in 7 days trick?Wink

Read this thread and see the love for spanx (mainly from me !)

You don't know what you're missing!

I havent been to a wedding in years without wearing a pair of spanx type shorts under my (usually very fitted) dress. Even when I'm slim (have had two babies so have been up and down the bit the last three years) I feel that they smooth out any lines or bumps. The nice expensive ones will not roll up, dig in or be uncomfortably tight (I don't tend to buy them super tight anyway - I wear a 12 when I wear clothes size 10). I love them. They really do make me look about 3 kilos lighter than I am.

I went shopping today (personal shopper at Debenhams fab experience) and then went to lingerie and got a new bra, was wearing a 3rd nursing bra, she gave me a 32 For (WTF) and I got a one piece support thing called Maiden form. Amazing.
I did look slimmer, even my arse felt smaller going back in the skinniest. I am a convert.

Thank you for the responses above prompting me to try some.
