How do I wear this skirt?

I don't know whether to return it or not. It's a Hobbs NW3 leather quilted skirt. I am 5'9, size 12 with enormous boobs! I have tried a short jumper with it and a couple of long length tops but nothing seems to work with it. It is slightly flared and I'm not sure whether it would suit me better if it was straight - but then it wouldn't work as a casual skirt too! I am 39 so not a spring chicken. It is not overtly leather tho! Help pls - do I return it or how can I wear it?! Thanks

Is it a nice skirt? If yes, then don't return it. Try it with a lightweight long sleeved jersey top, in a plain colour to balance the quilting, and then you can add a scarf or short fitted cardigan if you feel like it. It sounds as if it would go with ankle or knee boots.

If you have big boobs you need a fitted top/tight thin wool top I reckon.

Perhaps something like this ? More forgiving than a tight top?

Sympathies, I am quite big up top too, and I can imagine things look wrong if they're not going in around your middle!

btw 39 is a very marvellous age Wink so stop with the no spring chicken comments!

Hehe Winkthanks! Yes, it is a nice skirt and I want to keep it, but only if I can wear it! I have a bit of a twin-mummy-tummy so don't want a top to be too tight fitting. That top is gorgeous wannabe but I don't have anywhere I can wear it to! I need to dress the skirt down rather than up. It would be typical that I don't think anywhere in my wardrobe do I have a lightweight long sleeved top which is fitted enough (cos the skirt needs it to be a bit fitted) but not too fitted!..

how about wearing something quite plain and fitted, but then adding a nice big scarf over the top?

like this lovely scarf here or this plainer one over a dark top here - then you keep a nice curvy silhouette, but the scarf takes attention away from your tum, and up to your face.

Scarves are lovely but with two smelly bottoms to change on a regular basis they kind of lean into the poo a bit too much! I need to find a top which works on its own.

Iv been wearing a Breton stripe top with my leather skirt, also a denim shirt and sometimes both together!

Also hand knits (or anything that looks hand knit), or any soft knits like mohair or cashmere look lovely with leather. Think texture. To hell with size and proportion(!).
