Oil pulling or oil swishing is a traditional folk remedy that involves swishing oil in the mouth. It is mentioned in the Ayurvedic text. The practitioner rinses the mouth with approximately one tablespoon of oil for 15–20 minutes on an empty stomach (before eating/drinking) then spits it out and washes the teeth, gums, tongue (softly) and palate thoroughly. Cold pressed (raw) oil is critical to the (alleged) effectiveness. Sesame oil, sunflower oil, and coconut oil are the most recommended. According to an Irish study, coconut oil is the only effective oil used in oil pulling that can stop growth of Streptococcus bacteria and is therefore recommended for oil pulling. Oil pulling is usually recommended to be done first thing in the morning, followed by rinsing the mouth with (sea salt) salt water and then brushing the teeth in a normal, morning

Curlygirl method for hair

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal

Bobbi Brown pot rouge in Chocolate Cherry

Becca Beach Tint in Watermelon

Skin79 gold BB cream

Gel eyeliners applied to waterline but also fuzzed out with a blending brush in outer 'v'

Collection wand concealer

Naturtint hair dye. I have 80 percent grey at the front and this is the only dye that does it but doesn't hugely stain my skin.I can get two goes from a 9.99 box. Daniel Field watercolour is also great but can only do one head from a box so works out as costly

Clare - what's the DIY lactic acid cream & what do you use it for?

Hi Bobble, it's a moisturising, exfoliating lotion - basically a copy of 12 pct AmLactin which you get in the States and which is prescription only I think.

Here's a thread on it www.skincaretalk.com/t/9849/sheep-look-lactic-lotion

But go easy. I overdid it and burned my skin a bit a while back. Made a new batch and only use on certain areas now. You need to add a bit of bicarb to buffer it. Also don't use on face and don't use everyday.

I got 80 pct lactic on ebay. And I used Vaseline

I found it great for KP (which I have very very mildly) and really sorted my dry feet out.

Estee Lauder advanced night repair - been using it so long and I think my skin would fall off without it,
the aveeno range - a godsend for the whole family - no more dryness, exzema or rashes/itching because of soap.
clarins blue lotus facial oil
l'occitane almond shower oil, which I rub on then scrub off with sugar for baby-soft skin with no clammy afterfeel.

I was in Space NK the other week on one of my rare trips to London, and I thought the Chantecaille make-up was just gorgeous. They had a lipgloss called Folly and I want.
