Best primer

Can anyone recommend a good primer?

I have been using a sample benefit one for a few weeks and it's made a huge difference but it's £20 for a big one - anyone recommend a cheaper version or think its worth paying for a bit more expensive?

The superdrug Make Up Academy is very similar to the Porefessional. It's the matte oil control primer. Costs about £5 (small tube though) and at the weekend was on 3 for 2.
