This is cute? Black stockings/opaques and black shoe boots???

moibutbetter · 28/11/2013 16:56

I like the dress :) What your arms like though? Maybe put nice big shawl to spicy it up a bit :)
Monsoon has always some nice dresses in..Id go in store & maybe try soemthing you wouldnt normally try...they also had a similiar dress ( to the one you showed) in Coast but it had short sleeve..Ill try and find a link for you x

moibutbetter · 28/11/2013 16:58

I know it is a very simple and plain dress, but I think a big necklace and sparkling shoes and it can look beautiful..and show your legs ;)

moibutbetter · 28/11/2013 17:01

also comes in a different colour www.coast-stores.com/emlen-dresscoast/fcp-product/2224838398

ginmakesitallok · 28/11/2013 17:03

Buffie, I quite like that, would prefer a v neck though.

Moibutbetter, dress is ok, but as you say a bit plain!

What do you think of this?

This is incredibly easy to wear and very low cut so your chest will get to show off unless you wear it with a cami.

polyhymnia · 28/11/2013 18:15

The first Yours one looks way over the top for the pub IMO . Even at Christmas. And the one that just flares out could look like a tent on a bigger bust. (I'm same height as you but bigger) . Don't think Yours is very classy in general personally.
I'd have a look at the Boden one and also check out their site generally for dresses - all reduced now.

ginmakesitallok · 28/11/2013 18:18

I don't like the boden one, too like what I'd normally wear to work. I'm not to bothered about looking classy, I look classy in work, I'm feed up with classy

Home bird, doesn't have to be a dress. I wear wide leg trousers lots too, so would prefer something different. The lacey dress is a bit too grown up for me...

Homebird- that alexon one is lovely!

Quite see you don't want to be worky.
For clarification, when I said I didn't think Yours were very classy I actually meant I think their stuff looks cheap and nasty ( in my personal opinion) - not that you should look prim and proper for your party!

polyhymnia · 28/11/2013 19:29

Btw agree the Alexon one too 'grown up'. I'm sure I'm much older than you and I'd feel it was a bit too 'staid' .

ginmakesitallok · 28/11/2013 19:44

I'm 39, so no spring chicken! Off to have a look at warehouse

Hi gin. . . sorry only skimmed through replies. . .

I got some great advise here as I was feeling similar to you about a Christmas party I have to attend.

If you can, get your hair done. . it makes a huge difference to how us ladies feel.

Maybe wear an eye catching/statement necklace to bring the attention up to your great boobs. . lucky you!!!

How about a new lipstick. . . would you wear red. .always looks glam and also false lashes. I am great at putting them on friends but not myself though ;), a local salon could do it for you if you needed.

And remember. . .like I am trying to. . . its whats on the inside that really matters. Do some positive affirmations if you dont think they are too fluffy.

hope you have a great night out. . and Christmas.

ginmakesitallok · 28/11/2013 20:15

Thanks justlikeheaven, will have a Fab time after a couple of glasses of wine, always do! Life and soul I am! (Just feeling a bit down at the moment)

Good on you. . . it will pass, as you know

MarysDressSways · 28/11/2013 21:57

There's a few on asos (these are just a couple of options) -

Lacey top dress

chiffon sleeves

lace dress

polyhymnia · 28/11/2013 23:43

The hair tip is a great one. I always get a good blow dry before parties.
Lucky you, being 39!

Littlecurrentbun · 28/11/2013 23:53

I love this! I would get the 20 and get a dressmaker to alter it so you will have the perfect fit. Shaper tights and a tan. Belle of the ball. www.debenhams.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10052_10001_028020124572_-1

Littlecurrentbun · 28/11/2013 23:56
