Mapleissweet · 24/11/2013 23:03

Right, I've got a black tie event on Saturday that I need to look fabulous for. I've kind of over indulged this weekend (wine, take out, roast lunch etc Grin.
Dress etc us sorted, just need sone ideas how to detox and brighten myself up to look radiant for the weekend. Do I need to drink gallons if water, avoid bread etc? I'm sure the celebs do things before their events.
Kind of like the countdown to Christmas thread but now it's more countdown to the Christmas party...
Any help much appreciated Smile

Cut out carbs, that usually reduces tummies within a few days

chickydoo · 24/11/2013 23:25

2 litres of water ( minimum) a day
No carbs
No booze
No coffee

Body scrub
Fake tan
Manicure
Haircut
Tooth whitening

Good posture ( stand tall, tummy in, shoulders down)

AnyFuckerWillDo · 24/11/2013 23:27

What purrea tea?

YY to carb free

And a good facial

novelsituation · 25/11/2013 06:34

Spanx
Darphin microdermabrasion scrub, followed by their camellia mask (both Space NK)

Lavenderhoney · 25/11/2013 06:42

All already posted, cut out sugar too, and go to bed early. Nails, waxing, eyebrows... Make a list:)

Barbabelle · 25/11/2013 11:17

Cutting out salt can help with bloating too. A few early nights will work wonders. You're better off in bed anyway if you can't have sugar, salt, coffee, carbs ;)

If you have a facial, do it a day or two before the party in case it leaves you a bit blotchy .

Floisme · 25/11/2013 11:20

Definitely Spanx for the tummy. I was a sceptic but found some in TK Maxx and am converted!

coffeeinbed · 25/11/2013 11:25

Just no new products, use what you usually would.
Anything new can cause a reaction, and you don't want that now.

No carbs, no salt, no alcohol, lots of water, more sleep, as everybody else said.

Bexicles · 25/11/2013 11:30

Exercise
Warm lemon water first thing in the morning.
Deep condition your hair.

thereistheball · 25/11/2013 11:41

If you don't do it already, try the 5:2 diet. You've time for 2x fast days (in which you eat no more than 500 calories) which will energise you and make you feel great.

WeGotTheKrunk · 25/11/2013 16:01

Eat plenty of fruit & veg. Try to get plenty of avocados & almonds down you if you can (both great for skin).

Fuckitthatlldo · 25/11/2013 17:16

Oooh do Dr Perricone's 3 day diet - totally reduces bloating and inflamation - your skin will look amazing.

Drink loads of water and if you have a juicer, drink some freshly pressed veg juice.

And then enjoy pampering yourself! Pedicure, manicure, deep conditioning treatment for your hair, all that stuff. Use your nicest, most beautiful smelling body lotion after your bath and really treat yourself.

(I love the taking days to get ready thing - can you tell?)

TSSDNCOP · 25/11/2013 17:21

To chickydoos list I will add:

Eyebrows threaded
Facial
Go running

Repunsal · 25/11/2013 20:00

Ooh Fuckit was just about to post about Perricone myself! I have just done the three day plan and my skin looks amazing!!

Hermione123 · 25/11/2013 20:17

I clicked on this thinking there was no hope, now googling the 3 day perricone!!

Fuckitthatlldo · 25/11/2013 20:17

It's brilliant isn't it Repunsal! Visible results - fast.

Mapleissweet · 25/11/2013 22:07

I've seen the 3 day diet in line. Do you eat exactly the same menu for 3 days?

OP posts:
TerraNotSoFirma · 25/11/2013 23:41

Also do you pick just one item from the breakfast and snack lists?

I ate the same food for the 3 day plan, and yes you are to eat both the porridge and eggs for breakfast and all the snacks mentioned too! Just eat everything it says!

TerraNotSoFirma · 26/11/2013 13:19

Thanks repunsal, me and DH are going to give it a try.

thereistheball · 26/11/2013 13:48

Am going to try this, will have to swap the melon for kiwi fruit or berries as I'm allergic- hope it still works!
