Cashmere scarf/pashmina

I'm looking to buy my daughter something she would never buy herself but would love to have for Christmas. She'll be 40 next year so old enough to appreciate it! If you have any other suggestions I'd love to hear them or if anyone could point me in the right direction as to the best place to buy one I'd be very grateful. Budget around £100 but a bit stretchable if necessary.

Is this something you would like to receive on Christmas morning from your mum or is it a bit boring?

Depends what sort of style. I've just been looking at something similar for a friend of mine (a very young and fashionable 40-something!) so far I've seen lots of quite boring/dated stuff which I wouldn't be disappointed to receive but would excite me either but THIS I love - perhaps just my taste though!

Do you want something that is fashion/designer/luxury/traditional? A nice purse would be in that budget, maybe a handbag if you grab a bargain. If you do want designer then look at sites like the Outnet and Bicester village which have great deals on high end designer stuff.

I'm sure the mn fashionistas will be along in a minute and will be more help than me!

I'm going to be 40 next month and would be thrilled with a cashmere pashmina or scarf. I would personally like something in a classic colour like grey or navy, something that goes with lots of things., but I'm a bit dull!

I got a pashmina from here as a gift from dh. It's 80% cashmere 20% silk. Mine is cerise, really soft and a good weight. It hangs so nicely on too, had loads of compliments.

I am looking at this cashmere poncho/scarf as a serious Christmas present contender.
I have a heavier cashmere poncho which I wear a lot when it's vv cold but this looks a lot more wearable for longer in spring & autumn

I'm 37 btw and would go for the grey or beige one.

Thank you all very much for the suggestions. I opted for the middle sized Pure Collection pashmina in the end – I spoke to a really nice lady there who told me she thought that was the best size. With 30% off it came to a lot less than I was expecting. so the daughter in law gets one as well!
