Do these outfits suit me?

I've lost alot of weight in the past couple of years and feel like I can change the type of clothes I wear but no longer have any idea what to get or what suits me. Both of these outfits are recent purchases that can be returned, I'm just not sure whether they work or not with my shape (apple shape - big tum and boobs and slim ish legs, just smaller than I was). I can return them! I'd appreciate some advice from impartial peeps (I will give my view once I know yours but don't want my thoughts to influence your opinion).

Thanks

The jeans look great, you have good legs Smile

The dress is a lovely green colour & like the style but too big on you. Blazer too big on you too.

Im apple shaped minus the boobs. I find a more fitted little black blazer that is nipped in at the smallest part of the waist is more flattering. I woild aim for something to loosely skim over the tummy area but not bury your whole top half.

The Great Plains links won't work for me for some reason, but I googled the selina dress and it's nice. Thing is, tbh I've had alot of dresses like that in the past so I'm a bit bored of them, thought I'd try some new things, maybe I should stick with empire line and wrap dresses as I chose them for a reason. Might pop to new look tomorrow, they have younger styles (panic not, I won't come out dressed like a 15 year old!) and are cheap. Green dress and blazer are going back tomorrow I think, I'm just not sure it's me. Might have some follow up stuff to run by you tomorrow! Thanks for all the comments.

Right, a new day and 2 new outfits! Gah I just can't find anything I feel like it really suits me and I feel confident in, but here you go, the best I could manage today. So, are these any better? The black and white dress looks nicer in RL than the picture! I like it but I just think it's a bit dull and frumpy (it's not too long though). Might be good for work though.

I love the green dress from before and it looks great.

Not so keen on the jeans and blazer combo.

The new dress outfit looks fabulous!

I love the skirt too,but I'm not sure with the top.

VerySmallSqueak · 18/11/2013 16:40

BTW,I can't see the apple shape - you look very streamlined round the midriff to me.

Reastie · 18/11/2013 16:41

I'm not sure about the top either (it's a black vest top with a fluffy sparkly bolero type cardi) but I can NEVER FIND any tops that fit and suit me (which is why I wear alot of dresses!)

very must be the angle as I assure you my tummy is disproportionately big!

Love the dress with the red belt.

Think the skirt might be better with a little round neck cardigan to give it more of a 60's vibe.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 18/11/2013 16:48

The dress is perfect on you, really suits your figure.

What's on your skirt? Are they little Russian dolls? It's really cute, where's it from?

VerySmallSqueak · 18/11/2013 16:48

Don't put yourself down so Reastie.

Perhaps your mind has to catch up with the weight loss as I'm sure you're not seeing what I can see.

Which is a lovely shape body, which I think you could carry a lot off with.

Reastie · 18/11/2013 16:49

I have a v neck cashmere top, maybe that would work little ?

Eeeew! I sounded like a hairy handed trucker then....

Reastie · 18/11/2013 16:50

Thanks Blush . I'm truly not fishing for any compliments, just stuck in a rut and no idea what looks good.

Will I actually made that dress myself! Yes, it is Russian dolls.

OP posts:
LittleMissRed · 18/11/2013 16:51

Yes try that, with opaque tights, flatties and a nice chunky necklace/bracelet. You will look gorg!

Reastie · 18/11/2013 16:51

SKIRT I mean, not dress, I didn't make the dress at all, I'm not that good!

Grin very

It's very sweet, I am partial to a russian doll print

ThisIsBULLSHIT · 18/11/2013 16:55

Like all the outfits, esp the shoes in the blazer pic!

You look super slim! I actually think the dress is a bit bulky and it seems to have loads of material. (You are not bulky in the least)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/11/2013 18:29

You look v skinny in the dress. The skirt is lovely too, and flattering. The only thing I don't like (and it might just be the picture) is the funny fluffy little cardigan thing. Oh and I think opaques are invariably nicer than sheer black tights, which look rather dated imho.

debka · 18/11/2013 21:09

REASTIE YOU LOOK BLOODY FANTASTIC!!!

Well done on your weight loss, your figure is gorgeous, really. Really really- you look fabulous in all those clothes.

I hope you're enjoying trying new looks and feeling great in them.

Much love xxxxx

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/11/2013 21:16

I really, really want your skirt btw. :)

LeoandBoosmum · 19/11/2013 00:49

Well done! :)
Right... I love the colour of that green dress but not the style or fabric, too old and frumpy.
Agree that the jeans are great but the blazer is too big...just maybe not the right cut for you.
LOVE the second dress on you with the red belt - you look bloody fabulous in that!
Not fussed on the skirt although I know others here have said they love it. Just looks a bit childish to me.
Congrats on the weight loss again! :)

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 19/11/2013 00:56

Love the black and white dress, it's gorgeous.

I think you look great in jeans, am jealous of your lovely slim legs :) I think the blazer is nice actually (a lone voice on that I think!) but maybe better undone but with a longer, thin top underneath. The problem at the moment is there's a sudden cut off where your top starts and the jacket juts out at the same point which looks a little clumsy maybe.

You are looking great, I would be getting some nice colourful jeans and maybe some decent slouchy jumpers if I were you!

mammadiggingdeep · 19/11/2013 06:52

Love the second outfit- the bright shoes look cool and the jeans are perfect (great legs!). I think you need a smaller blazer too.

I like the dress, but not sure it flatters you as much as it could. What would you wear with it?

Reastie · 19/11/2013 07:13

Blush Blush you're all too nice.

deb good to see you on here. Just wish I had more money to get nice things!
