Pores seem to be getting larger...what will help?

Are there any products out there that won't cost the earth that will shrink the size of my pores? DH thinks I'm a loon as he can't see what I'm talking about but I have started to notice a difference when putting make up on.
Thanks for reading.

What's your skincare routine at the moment?

nobodysfool · 16/11/2013 23:02

JennySense- Very basic I'm ashamed to admit. Wash face with gentle soap and moisturise. That's it.

Ok!
Check out www.beautymouth.com [La Hirons] for general skincare help.

I would advise you start a skincare regime - a cleanser followed by an exfoliating toner, and moisturiser.

Cleanse with a hot cloth and if poss use a toner live Clarins and look at Alpha H Liquid Gold.

Thanks jennysense- I use a gentle facial scrub once a week Smile and religiously moisturise twice a day but can't use tones as it seems to make my face so tight I look like Joan Rivers Wink I will look into the products you suggested thanks .

I use clinique pore refining serum

I like Benefit's Porefessional, as a base under foundation.

Pores look bigger when they're clogged, so getting your face properly clean is the key. Whatever you like to use - an upgrade from gentle cleanser though! Some like hot cloth cleansing like Liz Earle's one, I personally find it too harsh, I prefer to use an exfoliating wash twice daily. Find one to suit your skin type. Toner - only use it if you want to, good ones contain chemical exfoliants like salycilic or glycolic acid, cheap ones contain alcohol which feels drying an only temporarily makes pores look smaller as it tightens the face. I use Nutrogena Pink Grapefruit exfoliating scrub twice daily which has salycilic acid in, which has dramatically improved the look of my pores. I don't bother with toner but I do double cleanse, just using the same scrub twice. This makes sure my makeup is fully removed and my face is properly clean.

Porefessional by benefit really impressed me. I tried a sample and would buy it if i could afford it!

I am with Jenny Sense on this one. Toners aren't what they used to be, we need to change the word for them really. I use a REN clarifying one followed by a spritz of the Liz Earle one as it is hydrating. But stop using soap! I use Liz Earle in the morning but Superfacialist at night, the precleanse oil to take off makeup then the creamy cleanser for a proper massage yoyr face cleanse. Skin has never looked better and pores finally decongested. Ready beautymouth and do what she says, trust in the mouth!
