What do we think if them? Not talking Julia Roberts boots in Pretty Woman but flat leather ones for smart daywear.

I really like them as long as they're flat. I tried some on but am too short-arsed, looked crap on me. I thing if styled well (ie not even slightly tarty) they can look good.

Love them. Unfortunately I find it hard to find ones to fit my (I would have said average sized!) calves.. Sad

Mapleissweet · 15/11/2013 19:13

Would be with skinnies or jodhpur type leggings. I'm 5"6 size 8. Want it get an investment pair, but thinking will they be fashionable for the next 3-5 years?
Seen an amazing pair in russell and bromley. Not sure if I can wait until Christmas though...

Do do I the girl or pantomime principle boys

Financeprincess · 15/11/2013 20:10

I ordered some from Karen Millen a couple of years ago: Jimmy Choo knock offs. I am tall but I couldn't carry them off. I looked like a member of a heavy rock band who did angling at weekends in waders. Back they went.

The problem is, you can only really wear them with fitted trousers or a short skirt. The latter looks a bit tarty unless you're under 30 and the former can easily look pantomimey and brings problems of proportion on the top half.

I saw on Sheer Luxe today that there is a Dune copy of the Russell & Bromley ones if that helps?

I bloody love mine. Had a thread about it a couple of weeks ago. I think you have to avoid too high a heel and not too wide at the top. The R&B ones are great but I couldn't afford them. Found a similar pair. Here's the thread.

Wear mine with leggings, wool/smart shorts.
