Does red work outside Christmas period?

Am thinking of buying gorgeous red dress for Christmas party.

But it is a bit of a steep investment so really need to be able to wear it to other things too (and not next year's party...)

What do you think? Could it work for parties at other times of year? Not sure it would be appropriate for a wedding...

Red is fine any time of year Smile

Floisme · 15/11/2013 14:13

It's lovely, as long as the colour suits you.

StuckOnARollercoaster · 15/11/2013 14:14

Love that dress.
I wear red to lots of events, not just Christmas. There's something about red that makes me feel confident!
And I would have no problem rewearing that dress for a wedding!

Stokey · 15/11/2013 14:18

Great - just the answer I wanted! I'm dark-haired with olive skin so tend to wear quite a bit of red anyway, normally a bit darker than that but think it will work.

Now just waiting for pay day.

Ooh I've been looking at the dress for ages as a contender for my birthday next year. Absolutely love it . If you get it could you let us know what you think ?

Defo for Christmas party though . It's a wow dress !

Mumelie · 15/11/2013 15:57

Really love that dress, you could wear it any time of year!
Just to warn you, i have tried it on in a L and its tight (I'm a size 12). I would have bought XL. Check with the shop for measurements before hand.
I bought a M (10-12) in This one

Elsiequadrille · 15/11/2013 16:00

Yes, definitely. And that particular dress is fine.

BunnyLebowski · 15/11/2013 16:05

Dress is gorgeous (I have it in black) and red is fab all year-round.

I wear 50's inspired red dresses all the time. I have long dark hair and pale skin and look bloody fantastic in red Grin

Beautiful dress, it will be great in summer!

Stokey · 15/11/2013 16:46

Keep your eyes peeled will definitely report back with results
Mumelie thanks for the advice - was going to go for small - am normally an 8-10 - slim shoulders so 8 at the top but bigger (10-12) round the hips, now I'm wondering if I should try medium.

Party on 6/12 so may not have time to buy and send back -particularly as don't get paid til 25th... oh dilemma

That dress is beauts! And you can definitely wear red all year round.

Mumelie · 15/11/2013 19:47

Stokey I would say the L I tried on was approx a 10-12 especially around the hip and waist area. Go for the M. or order both as they do free returns. Hope it looks fab Grin
