How do I get smooth clear skin on my back?

I have a horrid back. Sad

It's quite rough and I often get spots. What can I do to make it nice and smooth and clear?
At the moment I just use my usual shower gel.

I remember reading that you should never rinse your hair with it hanging down your back as the shampoo/conditioner can clog the pores.

I got Cerazette from my GP, it cleared up my back. It's now years and years since I took Cerazette but my back is still clear.

Whereisegg is right. Re-washing your shoulders and back after rinsing out conditioner makes a big difference.

I have a spotty back as well :-( I now tie my hair up in the shower after putting conditioner in, and then after using normal shower gel with exfoliating gloves, I use my face wash on my back and chest too (dermalogica medibac stuff). After rinsing hair off I make sure to rinse back once more. Other things are, always have a shower immediately after exercise, and if my back is feeling particularly icky, I sometimes ask DH to put spot stuff on my back before I go to bed, usually clearasil or teatree pad things. Lastly I change my pyjamas regularly and avoid synthetic tops (hard at the moment as it seems polyester drapery tops are the in thing, but they really make me sweat).

Big handful of body scrub on a back brush to exfoliate. Clay based mask applied all over back by helpful partner/friend. 30minutes lie down on tummy until dry.Wash off in shower. Use clearasil face wash to cleanse back every other day + very light oil free moisturiser as it's quite drying. Also agree that this should be done after washing and conditioning hair. If all else fails a low GI eating plan(not diet) and a trip to the GPs. Good luck!

Exfoliate with brush scrubber type thingy and I would also agree with using a medicated face wash a couple of times a week. that should sort you out in a couple of weeks or so

I know i shouldn't actually be recommending this, but i have seen it work it's magic.
