Are these eyebrows beyond help?

I've always despaired of my eyebrows. They are wide but thin. So if I pluck I'm scared of looking bald. I'm not terribly happy with my face anyway but generally feel I look a lot better in the summer with sunglasses on! So I'm thinking it is mostly my eyebrows at fault.

Please help

My eyebrows are a cause of despair, too, so I feel your pain.

What have you tried already? I think I'd be tempted to have them professionally shaped, just a little off under the arch to improve the shape. Then I'd subtly fill in feathery strokes with a light brown eyebrow pencil.

Definitely go to a professional first, though. Or a friend who has the eyebrow thing down pat.

You could get them tinted to appear fuller, I have mine threaded into shape and then tinted every couple of weeks, makes a massive difference.

You could also try a brow pencil or powder to fill them in a little. I really like this from Benefit www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk/product/view/brow-zings

HD HD HD HD HD

I cannot say enough how good HD brows are. What they do is tidy up your natural ones and tint them and some of the skin surrounding them to fill them up a bit and to give them shape. Here's the offish website hdbrows.com/who-we-are.html but local salons offer the same thing for a fraction of the price. I have super fine, thin hair so my eyebrows are similar, I get mine waxed into shape then I shade mine in with a good eyebrow pencil

I've just tried random plucking myself but generally given up as they don't look right.

I'm scared of seeing a professional. Really don't want to end up with over plucked brows either. Will they listen to me?

Not heard of hd so will look at that. Also amazon too ( what don't they sell! )

Ask around your friends and then check reviews online, most beauty places now have fb groups/pages where they'll have pics of their work. They should always ask you what you want, if they don't, RUN.

You have nice brows, they just need a bit of shaping and maybe some filling in with colour.

I think you should get done professionally to start with - so you get the right shape. Then you can just maintain the shape after.
I've always found that they are good at listening to what I want and have never come out with too thin and too dark brows.

I use an angled brush (like a Mac 266) and a brown matte eyeshadow (I like Mac Mystery and Mac Omega) to give my brows a bit of colour. But there are loads of cheaper alternatives, such as the eyebrow kit from GOSH (which is used by Lisa Eldridge).

You could also have a look on youtube for guides on how to do your brows.

riotbecky there appears to be a hd registered beautician in the lane but one to me! And I live in the middle of nowhere. It takes me 15mins to drive to do the weekly shop. Must be fate. I think I'll go once and en hopefully keep them in check myself afterwards!

Just wanted to add, my eyebrow lady made me promise her I'd throw away my tweezers! I did and my brows are so much better for it. I think sometimes pulling out stragglers can cause patchy brows as it alters the shape.

Longdistance · 15/11/2013 09:57

I get mine threaded. They look amazing once they're done. In our shopping centre, we have about 3 or 4 places that do threading, and they can dye them too, so they stand out more.
The gorgeous Asaian ladies that do the threading, do an amazing job :)

KnockMeDown · 15/11/2013 12:51

I've just had a look at the HD link. Is that what brows are meant to look like? Hmm

mammadiggingdeep · 15/11/2013 19:40

My rule is that I never touch my eyebrows...professionals only! They can make the worst eyebrows (mine) look gorgeous!
