Another "find me a dress" thread!

Cos I know you all love a challenge!

I'd like a new dress for various Christmas do's... well actually I've only got a work Christmas party but am optimistically hoping there'll be more!

I'd like it not to be black - ideally purple or red maybe? I've got a black Zara dress which I love the cut of so am hoping for something similar: sort of a short fitted shift dress. I think this style works well for me as it's fairly "structured" so hold in wobbly bits and doesn't swamp me as I'm quite petite (5'3", size 8/10 depending on brand).

Any ideas??

Is this any good? It has a pencil dress structure that's flattering and the pretty back detailing is good. It's also on sale for £45. Is it 'party' enough though?

Thanks! I like both those pencil style dresses - the warehouse one and the Boden one. Hadn't thought to look at Boden. Only reservation is that they may be too long... Ideally I'd like the dress to be a few inches above the knee (need to make the most of my legs while I still can as I'm nearing 40!). Also prefer rounded neckline to a v neck. And would love purple if anyone can find one! Sorry, I know I'm picky!!
