Judge my new boots

Are these a rip off?

I had £90 birthday boots to take back that weren't really working for me. Want something everyday & waterproof to wear with skinny jeans and tights/leggings. They are fur lined.

Bought them but might take them back. Really like them but not convinced by the price, better at the £129 they cost me.

I love the boots but think they are over-priced. Lots of lovely boots around for less. Check out the Dr Marten website or Jones the Bootmaker.

scratchandsniff · 11/11/2013 20:26

I like them. To be honest that's the price of decent leather long boots these days. I bought some brown boots a few weeks ago, now want some black ones too. Need a money tree.

MrsRogerSterling · 11/11/2013 20:29

Lovely. Price seems good to me. Keep them.

KneesoftheBee · 11/11/2013 20:30

I'm getting these

I also like these

ZenNudist · 11/11/2013 20:32

They are mid calf, wouldn't object to price for knee high. Black boots last me forever. I'm not on a budget but hate being a mug.

Already 'done' Jones. Didn't find anything. KG & Bertie equally pricey. Dune do have a lovely selection. Dune Black is their 'premium collection' don't seem different from their usual range!

I also liked these but John Lewis pair had a scuff mark on so I refused to buy

I love them.

I'm after something similar (for half the price).

KneesoftheBee · 11/11/2013 20:36

I like the RIFF boot.

I do love Dune though. I've got a pair of Dune brown leather ankle boots that are about 15 years old and they just look better the more battered they become! Grin

Hobbes8 · 11/11/2013 20:38

The TK Maxx website had some Dune boots recently that looked quite similar. They were more like £80 I think.

Spookey80 · 11/11/2013 20:38

I think they are lovely. Seem to tick all your boxes, if you can afford them and like them then they will prob be worth every penny.
If your not sure, then maybe don't get them, as they are expensive.

scratchandsniff · 11/11/2013 20:45

Just looked again, website says £210. Didn't read your post properly. Changed my mind, that is a rip off. Have you tried Aldo?

AmberNectarine · 11/11/2013 20:56

I always seem to end up with Dune boots when I buy long ones. They are really good and worth the money I'd say. I really like your pair. Boots aren't cheap in the main, so not too bad I'd say!

ShreddedHoops · 11/11/2013 22:08

I like the second ones you posted much much more OP, the three buckle ones look a bit chavvy and dated to me, sorry! Although the leather looks lovely. The other ones look much more current. Classic and simple biker boots that look a bit luxe.

princessalbert · 11/11/2013 22:10

Are they £210?

if yes, then I would think they are overpriced.

ZenNudist · 11/11/2013 22:17

Yes £210, v.expensive considering dune's usual pricing. not even knee high (was looking for slightly shorter boots)

I wasn't buying the second 'riff'?? pair due to scuff mark, only had limited time to shop & was returning my birthday boots, hence spending 'only' £129 today

Think will go back Friday & try to get the second pair instead.

If I had all the time in the world I'd love boot shopping in November. Lots of choice, so little time.
