I'm going to New York in a few days. I've been looking to see if anything is cheaper but not much is. I'll be staying two minutes from the Kiehls shop and just wondered what their products are like?

I rate the creme with silk groom. Put it on soaking wet curly hair and twist hair into ringlets, dry naturally.

Have fun, v jealous of your trip.

I love it. Coriander shower gel is a regular purchase, and their shampoos/conditioners are really good. DH loves the aftershaves too.

Lighthousekeeping · 11/11/2013 18:15

Do you think it is cheaper over there?

The product I mentioned is £18 here, $18 over there.

Rosa Arctica eye cream. Hand cream best in the universe. Midnight recovery serum. Moisturiser - can't remember the name - extra repair? - in blue tub. Brilliant.
Lip balms are lovely too. Am v envious!!

Lighthousekeeping · 11/11/2013 19:12

I hear they aren't stingy with their samples either

All their bodywash smells amazing, the musk, and vanilla with cedar wood are excellent ,also the olive fruit hair mask is great for dry hair.

Saurus72 · 11/11/2013 19:19

They are v generous with samples IME. I've bought Creme de Corps before, which people rave about. It is super expensive, smells amazing but is kind of average in terms of body lotions go I think. Definitely best to buy in USA though, way cheaper.

LeoandBoosmum · 11/11/2013 19:21

Their Supremely Gentle Eye Make Up Remover... Amazing!

Lighthousekeeping · 11/11/2013 19:24

Fantastic. Sounds like I shouldn't take any toiletries with me?

I like their midnight secret and lipbalms not tried much else. An ex bf of mine swore by their blue liquid.

babyfedleaning · 11/11/2013 19:30

Amazing ultimate strength hand salve - best hand cream for very dry hands. £19 here.

mogontheblock · 11/11/2013 19:32

Their groom aid for hair is the bomb. I love snazzy hIr products & this is one of the best I've ever used & I've used a lot!

Financeprincess · 11/11/2013 22:36

Sorry to be the voice of dissent. I don't rate their stuff at all - big prices, mediocre products. They are owned by L'Oreal, in case you're interested.

Loopyloulu · 11/11/2013 22:37

I thought they were owned by Estee Lauder- or does L'Oreal own EL?

Financeprincess · 11/11/2013 22:40

No, Estée Lauder are independent of L'Oreal and they own almost everything else L'Oreal don't! (Bobbi brown, Clinique, Mac....)

Lighthousekeeping · 12/11/2013 17:52

Aveda

I recently came back form the US with arm loads of the stuff. I just googled UK and USA shops to identify the good buys. And also I went to an outlet mall and popped into the makeup selling shop (don't know what the name was!) and they had gift boxes with 3 full size products that I use plus the little good size samples selling for $15 each - I was gobsmacked and bought several.

Sleepyhoglet · 12/11/2013 19:05

What was the name of the outlet mall?

lifesgreatquestions · 12/11/2013 19:49

I don't remember I'm afraid. If you do road trips you come across a lot of them, this one was in Missouri! I've been to a few though and have never gone into the make up store but I think they usually have one!

Lighthousekeeping · 15/11/2013 08:45

I've heard good things about the eye cream.

I'm hoping to get the night repair one for Christmas. I had a sample in my recent purchase and really loved it.
