Wellies

What Wellies do you buy?
I invested in a joules pair last year, first pair I bought had to exchange as they kept leaking in water
New pair gave me terrible blisters on my heels but I persevered as I di sometimes get blisters with new shoes and I needed something to wear in the snow nightmare
I made sure to wipe them clean before putting away(apparently mud weakens the rubber)
Wore them last night and noticed there's a small split on one and sole on other is practically worn through near the ball of the foot area
I'm a but gutted and wary of spending money on another pair that may do the same

I love my Hunters. They are expensive, but I wear them a lot (think horses, dogs and 2 small children).
I saw some in tk max a few weeks back, so maybe if you shop around you may get a bargain.

I bought leather ones. Sadly not dubarry but similar and very waterproof and probably last mr forever. warmer than wellies to. Grin

I have these www.easy-wellies.co.uk/bogs-womens-classic-high-stargazer-wellies-p-1020.html?zenid=5vul2v03jma7ubu34k98lh3f91

My only complaint is they make my feet too warm but when it's frosty and I'm out with the dogs I will be happy about that!

I pretty much live in my wellies over winter so wanted something decent.

I love love love my wellies. Le chameau (or something). £80 about 9 years ago - I freaked out about the price back then, but now I think it's well and truly worth it. The lining is ever so slightly loose at the top, but (other than the mud!) they are still as good as new.

I've never had joules wellies, they look very cute but I suspect you get what you pay for.

Thank you for the replies, I actually like the hunters so may go for them Smile

Check out Le Chameau, Aigle, The Muck Boot Company. All popular around here

There were Hunters in my local TK Maxx today for £50. However I have heard that they are poor quality as now made in China or something - only what I've heard but might be worth researching before forking out for them. Apparently the price is just for the name.

A lot of Trendy people I know in London have Hunters but everyone at my horse riding stables wears Aigle, Dubarrys, Ariat, Le Chameau, Muck Boot, Toggi etc

Aigle. Tried on some Hunters and they were v uncomfortable, esp compared to Aigle.
