Hi
Looking at doing a personnel shopper at HOF (only place with a space the day I have off) - i need a full wardrobe overhaul so looking for any advice for going to a PS to make sure i get the most from it?

Any one used one, things to avoid? Should i take pictures of the few items I have already?

I have high hopes for finally getting clothes I like that I dont ebay a month later!

Personal shoppers are great

Go and enjoy

You could take along things if you want them to match but I'd just talk to them and then try on what they bring

I always take a list with me of what I'm looking for so we can focus on those items.

I also let them bring me random things I wouldn't have tried on myself.

Have a great time -- sitting in the big dressing room while they get rails of clothes for you to try is fun.

You get dressed and undressed a lot, so dress with that in mind. By coincidence I was wearing a dress with spanx, that was perfect. Wear a good bra as otherwise they will waste valuable shopping time saying your bra is the wrong size admittedly, it was. if you can bring some shoes to show the heel height you like, that would be good. Also my shopper told me to bring favourite items with me next time as she can try to match them.

It completely transformed my wardrobe by the way, I was so happy afterwards! also poorer. The only things I took back were the ones I had chosen!

Oh thank you so much maybe I'll go bra shopping before getting to them first to ensure bra is correct!

I only have one pair of skinny jeans a couple of stripy tops two work dresses and one going out dress so wardrobe is needing some serious work!

Forgot to ask what should be the key items in a wardrobe? Need to stay focused on this shopping mission

Personally I got mainly dresses because they are so simple in the mornings -dress, tights and you're done. I got a black jacket to go over almost every dress that turned it from a day time dress to workwear. I also got a cashmere shrug ... Absolutely invaluable, I wear it all the time. Then three tops.

I was quite strict about only looking for workwear or at a push stuff that doubled up. She did get me to try some amazing jeans... I haven't worn jeans for ten years! But I didn't buy them, I said I would come back after Xmas to get casual stuff. I will get a navy jacket next time as well to ring the changes on the black one a bit.

The only thing I regret a bit is that I got two similar tops in blue and orange and I just haven't worn the orange one... I really like the blue one. Which btw is a major triumph for me... I went in to the style day with a 90% black wardrobe, I hardly ever wear all black now!
