Ski hats - anything stylish?

I am going skiing for the first time in December and am trying to get kitted out. I've just ordered a load of north face stuff (they're doing a price match on the john lewis website so its 20% off at the moment)
So . . . what hat should I get? Can anyone recommend one or tell me what sort of features I should be looking at. I have NO IDEA!
Oh and sock recommendations would be very welcome too!

But you can get lots of them on the high street as well. To be honest, you'll probably be wearing a helmet most of the time for actual skiing so just go for something that suits you.

Where are you going as some resorts now require you to wear a helmet?

Also for skiing don't buy anything other than proper ski socks, definitely not tube socks. Proper ski socks have padding in all the right places and fit close to your legs so you don't get wrinkles in them which will hurt.

For après ski, I favour something like this

It's the fur ski hat. Sweaty Betty do ski socks too but they are quite dear.

anything warm that stays on. And never wear white ski clothing.

BTW my dippy mistake on my first ski holiday was to take normal shoes for evenings. Stoopid! Trainers or snowboots if you can borrow them.
