I have had 2 dresses delivered for a wedding next weekend and I can't choose which one to wear, mostly because I can't easily think of how to accessories either of them!

Would you go red or teal and what would you wear with them?

p.s. the red on eis longer on me as I'm a fair bit shorter than the model.

pps I don't want to accessorise either dress with black.

I think the teal is much more elegant and subtle without being boring.

Have just worn a dress which was in a print with quite a lot of that colour to a wedding and found some navy patent lizard skin shoes which looked great (not just my opinion!) but don't know how easy something similar would be to find.

Very dark wine colour could work? Or pewter?

I like the red! I'd accessorise with tan shoes and bag.

Yankeedoodlenic · 07/11/2013 12:58

I like the red one but then I can't help but feel influenced by the price. The teal is so much more expensive but I don't think it is that much nicer! Really chunky necklaces are fashionable at the moment. You could do a bit silver necklace with either really and then maybe 1 big chunky silver ring but keep the other jewellery minimal. Shoes you could also do silver or nude always works!

I tried tan shoes with the red dress and it looked too "daytime" and made the dress feel a bit bland. I agree I do like the price of the red one and it makes me feel kinda sexy. I do love the colour of the teal one.

I'm not sure I can do a chunk necklace - I've tried a couple and they feel a bit wrong - I'm more of a delicate kinda girl I think.

I thought of doing gold with the red dress but I can't find any gold shoes that I like that aren't mega bucks. I think the closest I've found is these Also the only coat I have to go with the red dress is either a long grey wool one - which wouldn't go with gold. Or a short fur type one which I'm worried will look super tacky with a red dress. I may as well wear my leopard print shoes and go full bet lycnch!

The teal dress looks nice with grey or navy blue shoes but I'm stuck for accessories on that.

Ooh what about gunmetal grey shoes? Maybe a bit sparkly? Would go with your grey coat too. Bit like this I think Kurt Geiger have copies of these in the sale atm.

I love leopard print with red actually, but agree fur coat would be a step too far! You would need sophisticated camel coat to balance.

polyhymnia · 07/11/2013 13:48

I think the price difference shows - teal looks classier and more expensive for sure. Though I must admit I don't like red on me or much on others so that does influence me.

As you say navy and grey shoes and bag would look great with it - or pewter/ gunmetal or silver. Animal print in muted taupe-y shades or grey zebra would also be fab.

What other accessories were you thinking of? Coat/cover up? Jewellery? Hat??

PrimalLass · 07/11/2013 14:06

I think the wrap bit on the red would annoy me. Have you tried sitting down in it?

Ifcatshadthumbs · 07/11/2013 14:08

The teal one

sweetheart · 07/11/2013 14:39

Accessory wise I'm thinking a combination of:-
earrings
necklace
bracelet
statement ring

this of course depends on what I can find and is the thing stressing me out the most

shoes
bag
coat

I'm thinking I won't need a wrap or cardi because the dresses are long sleeved and I'm not doing a hat or fascinator

Shoes I have in every colour mentioned except gold, bags I have in every colour mentioned (I think) except grey. I don't really have much suitable silver jewellery. I have either a smart long grey coat or a fur one I've worn to a wedding before.

The fabric of the red dress is actually pretty good - it's a really nice thick jersey. The teal one is a thinner fabric and quite rigid - I was quite disappointed with the quality of the fabric to be honest for the price of the dress.
