Recommendations for a waterproof jacket (possibly waxed)?

Just been looking at the thread on waxed jackets and wondering if anyone can recommend ones that's water proof or another style. I have three coats, all of which soak up the rain. Got soaked a few times last week and again this morning, so am determined to get a better buy this time!

I'd recommend looking at Jack Murphy ones (proper waxed and waterproof) then searching for the best price online.I quite like the Carey because it's different and belted (and hooded!) and comes in several colours. It's between £120 and £150 most sites but on Amazon and a couple others it's £59-£79!

Jack Murphy do some lovely ones-more traditional styles,'classic with a twist' modern styles and some simple ones.

Thanks for your reply, am about to look at the Jack Murphy ones. Also, interested if anyone else has any suggestions though!

I bought this Craghoppers one in the Debenhams sale a few weeks ago and can assure you that it is totally waterproof. I spent three hours standing in a shopping mall car park in the rain last night (don't ask) and stayed cosy and dry.
