which I have no idea if it's true but sounds about right, so what pinkish, mauve-ish long lasting lipstick would suit me you reckon?

If you are a warm autumn then I doubt a pinkish/mauvish lipstick would suit but someone better informed than me will come along soon. I am a bright leaf autumn and that type of colour makes me look like a corpse!

Oh I guess I'm not a warm autumn then because I think pink suits me. My hair colour is of a mousy nondescript colour with a lots of warmth to it, but quite heavily highlighted honey/caramel blonde. My skin is of cool tones, thinking about it. So I guess I'm not a warm autumn at all and I just like the sound of it...Blush

Bless :)

It really is impossible to guess. Warm/cool/soft/clear/bright/sultry/muted - it really is a science. Cool skin tones should lead you to one of two 'seasons' but it's so much more than that.

IDugUpADiamond · 06/11/2013 20:00

Bummer, soft and muted sound about right too, but definitely not bright Grin

I'm a warm/true autumn - (personally I think the whole thing's bollocks!)

Earthy tones generally suit autumns...

peasypeeler · 06/11/2013 20:13

Good for you! :)

peasypeeler · 06/11/2013 20:13

On buying your pink lippie Idug

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 06/11/2013 21:25

Can you recommend a wet mud lipstick twinklestein? Lol

If I recall, borgois and maybelline do some nice punky mauves.

As for seasons,I'm weird.I'm not wholly convinced by it either, but hey ho!

From a possible soft autumn who can also look like a winter...

IDugUpADiamond · 06/11/2013 21:35

Okay I think I'm a soft summer
Yes, that's right
Soft summer

Revlon lip butter in Pink Truffle will suit you if you are a soft summer. It isn't long lasting though but very pretty.

IDugUpADiamond · 07/11/2013 08:12

I'll check it out today when I go into town, thanks Steeped; any other suggestions?

Test the lipstick on the inside tip of your finger, if it looks 'right' it'll suit you, it'll be clear if it's the wrong colour. Friend gave me that tip and it works a treat and has saved me a fortune!

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 07/11/2013 10:15

I just accidentally bought a pinky mauve lipstick,it's a gorgeous colour!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush in Not An Illusion.

I'm possibly a soft autumn. It looked more corally toned on my hand but on my lips it's a punky mauve, verging on plummy on ME.It sure made my very pale skin stand out and brought out the peachiness of my blush. It didn't make me look dead but looking in the mirror instant attention is drawn to the centre of my face with it-nose,mouth and a teency bit of cheeks.

So,while the 'wrong colour' may draw attention in a set way I don't agree that a wrong colour will always make you look dead or dreadful.

Anyway,if you still want pinky mauve I recommend it.You could have mine if you want!

IDugUpADiamond · 07/11/2013 10:51

TripTrap that sounds PERFECT, Thanks!! Off I go to Boots and I'll report back!!Grin

Twinklestein · 07/11/2013 20:42
