Hi, just wondering what colour eyeshadow I should wear.
I have blue grey eyes, v dark brown hair, pale but not ghostly skin.
Have been reading how to be groomed thread and loads of helpful info on there. Returning to work after being SAHM for number of years and living in comfy clothes. Really want to look my best and appreciate any help anyone can offer. TIA

You can't go wrong with a light-medium brown, flattering for your colouring but not too strong. There are loads of different shades so you can pick a few you like.

Try a palette, Urban Decays Naked one springs to mind, experiment on a weekend and see which ones you like.

If you need cheaper try Superdrug's MUA or BeautyUK.

Bobbi Brown also do great brown taupe and other neutrals.

Neutral/nude/browns are always nice and easy to wear.

Wayne Goss has made a list of eyeshadows (mostly Mac but you can just find similar colours from other brands if you want) and a video about which colours to wear to make your eye colour pop:

you sound like you have similar colouring to me. I wear a lot of browns Bare Minerals Vintage Ruby with Dark Chocolate and also love the Smokebox pallette from Smashbox, the plum shade in that is gorgeous. I also wear silver and grey shadows a lot often with the navy from the Smashbox pallette. Another combo I wear a lot is Mac Fiction with Humid (mossy green and bright emerald shades) with Bare Minerals Black Emerald as a liner

Sorry to hijack but what is good with green eyes and sallow skin.

Strawberry fudge by Clinique. All my friends have it, and regardless of out complexion or hair colour, it suits us all.
Has two colours, a golden shimmery pink (sounds horrendous but is lovely) and a soft brown.
Is fab fab fab and lasts for months and months.

MUA matte palette (I have the same colouring) is really good. I ESP like the nude leaning pink and pink toned beige in the palette. I think it was £4 and I use it everyday. It's simply brilliant.

here

3rd from left top row and second on bottom are the shades I wiffled on about.

Thanks all for your help, will add to the list. So glad I found this website as you all are a mine of information. Looking forward to practising in front of the mirror at the weekend. Will try the neutrals browns first. Thanks again.

Could I also just say that if you are applying a lot of eyeshadow or if you use your brush a bit vigorously its useful to do your eyeshadow before your foundation. So if you get any under your eyes or on your cheeks you can wipe it away with a cotton wool ball in eye make up remover & then apply your foundation. If you try to wipe it from the top of foundation it can smear & leave you with brown eyeshadow fleck smears on your cheeks.

This morning I wore a neutral base shadow, a light brow bone, a mid brown contour & a dark brown shadow as a liner & as I was in a hurry & distracted by DS2 I got loads under my eyes & on the bridge of my nose. Brown eyeshadow under your eyes in not a good look, you look like the undead! :)
