Chanel lipstick

My SIL has given me a €30 parfumerie voucher for my birthday. I always thought that my DM's Chanel lipstick was the epitome of grown-up makeup sophistication, so I reckon that at my advanced age I can now have one too, but which one, the different names are confusing me? I'd like something with a bit of shine and it doesn't need to be extra long lasting (isn't the point of expensive lipstick that you can get it out and reapply it when people are watching?). Colour wise I assume that I'll have to go and take a proper look for myself, but any recommendations would be gratefully accepted.

I have this one, in a few shades. I also have a pressed powder compact, I have those in my handbag for touch up throughout the day. it does feel nice and grown up Wink I still remember as a child being fascinated by my nan applying make up and it seemed so glamorous. She always used brands like chanel, Clinique and clarins.

The Coco Shine lipsticks have been reformulated and are now sheer, shiney but last better than they used to, and show much better on the lips.

Thanks, I like the Boots description of the Coco shine! Sheer might be the way to go especially if I get a deeper shade than my usual attempt at a "my lips but better".

I have rouge coco in Gabrielle which is strong classic red, I got it for the proper grown up glamour :)
I love it but it's dramatic, not for everyday use or not for me anyway. More for big nights out when I have a full face of makeup. When I wear it I get lots of compliments and women asking what lipstick I'm wearing!

Please do report back and say which shade you go for, I could do with a new one (and will be due something from the airport shops when DH goes away for work in a few weeks Wink) that's more subtle and easy to wear.

Rouge Coco is lovely and beautiful range of shades. The Chanel counter assistants are usually v good at picking a shade too - I have Mademoiselle, which I never would have chosen for myself but it's perfect.

I didn't know the Coco Shine had been re formulated - might have to investigate Smile

I also have the Madamoiselle shade, it's lovely. Perfect if you're going for a 'better than my lips' look.
