Hi, just new to mumsnet, found it by chance as I am returning to the workforce and need to look like I fit in. When searching for tips I came across the thread 'how to be groomed' and it was full of v good infor for a novice like myself. Anyway was wondering if there is a similar thread running currently as I didn't have much look finding one.
Need help with skin are, makeup, clothes, hair, the whole thing really so I can return to work with some degree of confidence.
TIA

Just brush your cut hair. Do your eyebrows. Wear appropriate make up. Iron clothes.

Personally I find tidy eyebrows work wonders. I get mine threaded. I don't wear a lot of makeup but I find good brows really lift your face.

Thank you both. Will start with the eyebrows. I'm just clueless and I thought that thread was great. Am reading it at the minute and was just hoping there was a similar one running now as it would have been nice to chat

The thread is here

I am just reading through it now and hopefully I will be better able to groomed for the workplace after being away for so long.
I just don't think my SAHM clothes will cut it.
Hope you find it useful

Thank you Helga, I will have a look and hopefully I will pick up lots of interesting tips along the way. Busy Wink reading the how to be groomed thread and for the first time in who knows how long, I cleansed and moisturised. Baby steps. But just what I need!

I would echo the eyebrows. Threading is great for this and then fill them in with an eyebrow pencil if you need to. I have my nails done as well and these two things make me feel alot more together. Cost is an issue for me and I dont have a big budget but my nails and eyebrows come to about £35.00 pcm and I try to make sure that I can always have them done.
I also always wear heals and a dress for work. Takes no time to get ready as it is just underwear, tights, dress = Done.

Good luck and enjoy it!
