how many clothes do DC actually need?

dd1 (6.8) has had the growth spurt to end all growth spurts, and has grown out of everything at once. this, combined with DH finally telling shopaholic MIL that the girls do not need her to buy the entire tesco sale rail for them 4x yearly, means that she needs a new everything.

due to aforementioned shopaholic MIL, both DDs have until now always had too many clothes, so I've never had to think about this before. what do we reckon is an appropriate amount of stuff for a six and half year old to have?

I find it really difficult as when they're at school they need very little but then come the holidays and I realise they have nothing to wear Grin.

Dd (8) has quite a few clothes but she's interested in them and enjoys them. Ds (6) has just had a growth spurt and now has 4 long sleeve tees, 4 trousers, 2 joggers and a couple of old hoodies. But he's only interested in clothes if they have a skylander on them and would happily wear the same thing every day at the weekend/holidays.

I reckon 4 changes of clothing is manageable for school holidays. That said, if you had a dryer you could manage with less.
