Is it me or have Next upped their game recently? Just browsing through their latest Christmas catalogue and there are loads of things I quite like and not all are full on polyester rubbish.

I popped in the other day and was quite impressed

I've brought a few things for myself recently too. a lovely coat, padded one its not down but surprisingly warm and toasty and £50! also the leggings are quite good, not too thick and not see through. Lots still to be avoided but a few nice surprises if you can be bothered to look.

Their Christmas catalogue has some truly lovely clothes in it. It is sitting next to me just waiting for me to order a few things. However, I am a bit cautious about Next as my MIL shops there and last time I saw her I realised that she was wearing a jumper that I had nearly bought, and was still considering. She is a lovely lady but I do not want to dress like her!

Well I ordered a pair of their biker boots (not very Christmassy, I know). They arrived today and are lovely. Very comfortable and I'm pretty sure I won't see many MILs in them!

totally agree. I have had 2 pairs of jeans and a jumper recently - the first thing i have ordered in about 2 years. All items have been great

oh and a pair of boots, forgot about those! they are fab too

I just got a whole load of work clothes, really nice, plus, they are the only brand that does tall (eg dresses that reach your knees)

Hurrah Next - do you think they have a new buying team?

Any chance you can post a link to the biker boots? And the padded jacket? Please....!

I've been on the hunt, but I can only access Next International for purchases. However I might cluck and get a friend to collect.

I bought 3 nice blouses there on my last visit, plus a jersey blazer that I saw someone on BBC 3 wearing the other night!

Yay, I bought some boots there last month and I am loving them. I am always popping in to the one next to charing cross station to pass a few mins and it is generally a waste of time but recently I have noticed some nice workwear and tried on some dresses. Maybe they are on the up?

Tell me about it. Spent £157 in there the other day quite by accident. Before Christmas as well! I did get a gorgeous long jumper and the most wonderful fluffy black cross body bag. I also got two pairs of jeans that do weird things around my knees so they are going back and I accidentally went into the children's section and bought an outfit for DD. It was actually a really lovely experience, jeans notwithstanding.

I had a small catalogue through (not the full one) and I was pleasantly surprised by the nice clothes and the low prices. Some nice tops for £20 that look miles better quality than New Look and Dorothy Perkins (as a similar price band comparison)

Boots are lovely - some biker boots are too "jangly" this year.

These are perfect.

I buy many/most of my clothes there for work - smart/casual. I often get complemented on them. It's all from the catalogue those - there's a fair amount of polyester appliqued tat in the stores
