Long boots that leave a gap round the top

All the long boots I try on leave a gap at the top of my leg near my knee. I have tried loads of pairs and none of them ever fit tight to the leg.

Does anyone else find this and shall I just buy some anyway as they fit fine otherwise. I could be looking for ever for the perfect fit by which time winter will be over!!

i have this problem, but finally have a pair of black riding boot style ones from jones bootmakers and a pair of sheepsin boots (solid foot and sturdy sole-not slipper type) from tkmaxx, the brand could be shepherd??

I find the same but have weedy legs so just buy them anyhow as would be looking forever otherwise.

Oh the Celtic Sheepskin ones fit tight but that's for when I'm channelling my Nanook from the North look rather than a sophisticated girl about town type look Grin!
