Finding a bra that fits

I have this bra and find it comfortable apart from the wires poking up into my armpit. I am in Bristol next weekend, any suggestions to try while I am there or a kind MNer willing to come and fit me? :o I have the 38GG but can only wear it for a couple of hours before I can't take the wires poking me any more and have to change it for a non wired.

I am sure some bra gurus will come along. It may be that its the wrong style rather than the wrong size

I find the Debenhams Gorgeous bras a bit hit and miss. Some fit me really well and others are shocking! The JL in Cribbs Causeway has a fairly decent bra section so could be worth a look. I don't know about any independents though.

Have you tried any brands with lower wires?

There is a lady in the Debenhams in Bristol who is amazing, just a shame about the range of bras. They do have Freya though so might be worth going there for a fitting and then putting what you learn to use elsewhere. She confirmed they abandoned the 'add 4 inches' years ago and she really only uses a tape measure as customers seem to expect it Smile.

I think the House of Fraser in town has an ok range too, just avoid the Boux Avenue as they don't have a clue- I showed the lady I could pull the band out miles and it was riding up my back plus my boobs were spilling out (and I'm not well endowed), but she insisted it was fine Hmm.

Have you measured yourself as per bra guru guidelines? If you're in a debenhams 38, I'd expect you to be 36 inches under the boobs. If you're smaller than that then try remeasuring.

Oh, and my big boobed friend swears by John Lewis Cribbs, but from experience I think they might put people in a too big band size. I haven't been measured there for a while though, might try again when my boobs settle down (they are shrinking like crazy after giving up breast feeding and losing 2 stone).

I tried exactly the same one yesterday and felt that wires were too long and they were digging in :(
Have look at this make next time you have chance : Fantasie .
I've been wearing this make for many years :)
(one type which fits me was in store yesterday and I bought it)

I ended up going to JL in Cribbs Causeway and ended up walking out in a 34H Fantasie Belle. I have to say being a size 20 it was a bit of a shock being able to do up a 34 band!

My best fit was 34 hh Fantasie. But I haven't seen them for ages in my local Debenhams :(
