I'm looking for a lovely new smart coat and some nice knitwear, all the ones I like are wool

Unfortunately, I can wear pure wool or angora

Can anyone suggest what I can wear and where to buy it from

I guess you mean " I can't wear pure wool or angora " from your thread title ?

I gave throw opposer problem. Acrylic and other synthetic fibres agravate my psoriasis. So - can you wear acrylic, viscose, cotton ? ?

What about merino?

MacaYoniandCheese · 02/11/2013 22:44

Cashmere? Yes, pricey but it lasts and lasts. Could you justify as a "necessity"? I would.

BikeRunSki · 02/11/2013 22:45

M&S do a range called " cashmino" or something like that which is "nice" synthetics. Non-wool knitwear is all over the place!

FabMum1 · 02/11/2013 22:48

Sorry, lol, I meant I can't wear wool

Will look on m&s, cashmere always seems so expensive. Not sure I can justify that

Woolovers do a cotton range. If you can't wear wool. Will cashmere really be ok?

GERTgert06 · 03/11/2013 09:59

I've had the same problem all my life, and only recently discovered that I can wear cashmere. A bit expensive, but worth it.

I can't wear wool either, irritates my skin. I have quite a collection of cashmere all amassed on a budget.

Second hand cashmere is very reasonable. Look on ebay. Uniqlo do inexpensive cashmere but I haven't seen it in RL. H&M have some at the moment. Some of my fuzziest cashmere is from John Lewis and Gap. Cos is good quality too. J Crew cashmere is nice bit very fine knit IME.

Look out for sales and discount codes - there will be loads for all of the above brands between now and Christmas.

In terms of coats, padded coats are far warmer than wool.

I can't wear wool either. I got some great cotton jumpers in Zara. Or I just wear man made.

I'm usually ok with coats if they are lined, but can't wear cashmere
