Soap and glory - gutted. Keep using or stop?

The soap and glory products caught my eye, they were on offer and I had heard good thing about the 'wish upon a jar' night cream, so I bought this, and an eye de puffer as I have horrid eye bags lately.
The next morning my skin was quite red over my nose and my eye bags were way worse! Does this sound like I'd reacted to the product or should I keep using them - is it possible my skin would get worse before getting better?
Also if I should stop, does anyone have any product recs - I am gutted if I have reacted, what a waste of money! :(

I'd stop right away if I'd reacted to something like that, sorry.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 02/11/2013 12:43

I'd stop.

ALSO,the reviews about Wish Upon A Jar are likely (as most are) to be about the old one which was a 21 day (use for 21 days and leave 3 month gap before next use) collagen boost, which was fab. They recently stopped making it and make a night cream instead which is very different :( The new cream (night cream) doesn't have many reviews yet.

FracturedViewOfLife · 02/11/2013 12:53

Thats interesting Trip.

I had a really bad reaction to Clinique 3 step. My face felt like it had been sunburnt, it was red and tight and dry. I used the Wish Upon A Jar and my skin was better than ever. It was amazing. I know not to buy it again now Sad

I definitely would stop using it.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 02/11/2013 13:05

It was fab wasn't it.No idea what the new one is like but definitely can't be the same.Apparently,it's also got 'diamond dust' in it (don't remember that in original?May have been though),aka some glittery stuff people have complained about.

I don't know why S&G constantly change their products,it's annoying!

AmazingDisgrace · 02/11/2013 13:23

Noooooo They don't make Wish Upon a Jar anymore? Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

CherryColl1ns · 02/11/2013 13:27

Soap and Glory is cheap heavily scented stuff. Try Elemis or Trilogy

cannotfuckingbelievethis · 02/11/2013 13:38

Stop using it ! And take it back to Boots to get your £ back pronto. If you've had a reaction to it then they'll refund you no bother.

Cherry that's a fair point but Elemis and Trilogy are out of some people's price range !

CherryColl1ns · 02/11/2013 13:53

Ok I should have considered that. In that case you can't go wrong with Aveeno

PavlovtheCat · 02/11/2013 13:56

fractured that happened to me with clinique 3-step. They let me take it all back for a full refund. I now use Avene everything. It is gentle and lovely on my skin, moisturises it to just the right level.

OP I would stop using immediately. It is not usual for your skin to react like that.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 02/11/2013 13:58

But do they do the 'magic' the old Wish Upon A Jar did?It seriously plumped the skin, made it firmer, really reduced lines, moisturiser well and made you look younger!

LOLisNOTaPunctuationMark · 02/11/2013 14:12

My sister bought a bottle of Body Spray by Soap&Glory, didn't like it, so gave it to me. It is the most delicious smell ever. Grin

It's called Mist You Madly.

3xM · 02/11/2013 14:17

Soap & glory seem to changed a lot of their products lately, and not for the better.

Anyway, yes stop using it. Sounds like you are sensitive to the ingredients.

UserError · 02/11/2013 14:35

Stop using it. I didn't even like the old formula as it did nothing to my skin that my Aldi Lacura serum (or whatever the brand is called) did, for about £20 cheaper.

valiumredhead · 02/11/2013 15:01

Stop using it!

FracturedViewOfLife · 02/11/2013 21:51

Pavlov Thanks I think I will try Avene next then. Im currently using Clarins. I really like the cleanser and toner but I'm not a fan of the moisturiser. Clinique is the only skin care I have ever reacted to which is odd.

OneLittleLady · 02/11/2013 21:57

definitely stop using it. Any reaction is cause enough to stop using a product. Allergic reactions can worsen with repeated exposure as well so please stop using it and look at getting something else

PavlovtheCat · 02/11/2013 22:04

fractured it's much cheaper than Clarins Grin (sorry for slight hijack, but relevant to the OP sort of !)

Cat98 · 05/11/2013 13:56

Thanks for this. Pretty conclusive then! I haven't used it since and am still getting the odd reaction so starting to wonder if its something else. Skin dry and flaky over my nose and around my eyebrows. I tried good old olive oil last night and that seemed to help a bit! I also flare up after using the superdrug hot cloth cleanser (vit e one) but I'm ok with my old trusty tesco facial wipes! Though everyone always says not to use wipes. Help!

Take it back to Boots and tell them you had a reaction to it - they should give you a refund.

CatAmongThePigeons · 06/11/2013 20:46

I had a reaction like that but with shampoo it took my skin (face, hands, neck and chest) a few weeks to recover, go very easy with your skin until it clears, keep to very very basic cleansing.
