Hairy arms, are they acceptable?

Smile

I've always shaved, waxed or veered my legs, armpits and bikini line but it struck me the other day I have never touched my arms.

It came to my attention when I read the instructions on the very and it mentioned arms!

My arms are quite hairyShock but the hair is quite fine.

What does everyone else do?

Christ - I can barely be bothered doing under my arms, let alone my actual arms Grin

I suppose mine are 'hairy'ish' but very fine and light, which is handy as I've no intention of doing anything about them.

However, I can't see why someone wouldn't if it bothered them - though it's a shame they've been made to feel that way :(

Bleach once a month and then trim with scissors once a blue moon as the hair seems to get longer when bleached. I hate my hairy arms and have also been made fun of quite horribly by a complete prat of a boyfriend and his lovely mates.

MirandaWest · 02/11/2013 11:12

I did measure the hair before I posted Grin
My arms are a lot harrier than my boyfriends but he does have darker hair than I do.

GobblersAnyKnobFucker · 02/11/2013 11:19

Ha, I just went and measured in case I was hugely exagerating, the longest ones (on my outer forearm near-ish my elbow) are just shy of two inches, they have a bit of curl to them too, pretty Wink

They are not that long all over.

PacificDogwood · 02/11/2013 11:28

Ha! I can just see you all at home, with your measuring tapes Grin - but thank you for confirming. I am humbled....

foxysocks · 02/11/2013 11:38

yes of course they are acceptable! hair anywhere is acceptable.

Curioustiger · 02/11/2013 11:57

I veet mine prob four or five times a year. My arms look slimmer without hair. Yes I am that shallow Grin

SpookyRestingFace · 02/11/2013 12:40

I shaved mine once, when I was about 12 out of curiosity. They looked weirdly smooth and doll-like. I'm dark and moderately hairy.

When I was 16 or so I saw a film called The Real Blonde, which had Catherine Keener in it, and I noticed she had arm hair just like mine and she was very, very sexy. Since then I've never had a problem with my arm hair, just one of those things that sticks in your mind and influences you.

I do think it's lovely. Hairless arms look weird to me, a bit.

bishbashboosh · 02/11/2013 19:42

Mine are definitely an inch or more!

I veet mine, it lasts ages! Literally months because the hair grows back so fine. I don't mind a bit of fine hair but when it's fully through it's very noticeable, particularly on my wrists, so the veet comes out again.

My arm hairs are blonde and fine and I epilate mine once every six weeks.

FeisMom · 02/11/2013 21:20

I'm very fair with really thick dark hair, everywhere is hairy on me. I hate hate hate being so hair.

I epilate my fore-arms every couple of weeks - it is the only place that I can epilate as its not too painful. The hairs have started getting thinner and less noticeable since I have been doing it.

ProtectiveMother · 02/11/2013 22:22

EVERYONE HAS HAIR ON THEIR ARMS! OF COURSE IT'S ACCEPTABLE!!!!!

Lazysuzanne · 03/11/2013 01:44

I epilate my arms, feels quite tingly and I like doing it!

Beaverfeaver · 03/11/2013 09:56

I love my hairy arms. I am olive skinned and in winter the hair is dark, but goes blond in summer.

I only shave bottom half of legs and armpits.
